We have a new (provisional) date for the 15km test flight of Starship SN8! Powered by 3 Raptor engines, it will be the first attempt at a "proper" flight, above just 150 metres (the first 3 tests). The request for road closures around the site gives 30th November as the hoped-for day, with 1st and 2nd December as backups.
    https://www.cameroncounty.us/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/PUBLIC-NOTICE-OF-CAMERON-COUNTY-ORDER-TO-TEMP.-BEACH-CLOSURE-AND-HWY.11.30.20.pdf

For those who think of commercial airliners flying at around "40,000 feet", 15km is nearly 50,000 feet.
Hoping the prototype can get there, it then "bellyflops", falling back towards the landing site, maximizing its air resistance to slow it down before reorientating and relighting its engines at the last moment to land vertically.
If it happens it will be spectacular. There's a strong chance of a Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly or RUD (aka explosion) and that will be spectacular too. Well worth a watch!

For those who want to see the rudimentary Starship on the test stand, this is SN8 being readied for its 15km flight. It's the first of the prototypes to have the nosecone and flaps fitted. Above it we see the Moon, where as I said some adapted Starships may go, but above that we see Mars, the real target.
Starship itself stands 50m tall (9m diameter) with Super Heavy an additional 70m, so when they're mated together for flights into Earth orbit, it will be the tallest rocket ever built, but more importantly will have much bigger carrying capacity than anything that's gone before.

I'd trust McClaren to keep us up easy. He'd be getting us prepared for play off contention next season. I don't think he'd make took many changes either. With a decent budget he'd get us a forward or two and hopefully convince Will Hughes to come back.
Some people are looking at our current situation and it's blurring what is necessary.
Holmes is too injury prone and not effective enough. A replacement is needed. Rooney needs replacing. We will also be looking to replace/ find replacements for Martin (still), Waghorn and Marriott.
I'd trust McClaren to replace these players and reckon two of them would be Hughes and Ivan Toney.

It's not what we think he would do, it is what he thinks he would do. According to a recent interview, he has been watching Derby a lot so must have a good idea of the set-up and its current failings. Which is a lot more than Rafa or Eddie Howe when a quick turnaround is essential.

With Mac at least you know he can get the team playing positively unlike the recent dross. Think he would really get on board to regain his reputation as one of the best coach’s around. Fergie knew how good he was when after the double on Man U he took him away and they did their first treble.

There are other managers I like on this list, but McClaren ticks more boxes. The most realistic are McClaren, Cook, Howe and Cooper.
Benitez too big and too much money. Rooney, Terry and some others, not enough experience. We aren't about to appoint anyone who has never managed in England before, again.
Howe is most likely waiting on a PL club job that could come in the next few weeks.
Can Cook and Cooper work alongside Rooney? Could they manage a bigger budget and ego's? Do they have the contacts? Have they ever managed above a club our size...
McClaren ticks more boxes than everyone else.

McClaren is moving forward. He's a progressive forward thinking manager. I vividly remember him arguing for us to play out from the back and in a league game against QPR stating he wasn't disappointed when we lost because of playing out from the back. Saying it will happen every so often and the players aren't to blame, they were doing the right thing.
We aren't about to waste another 18 months to two years.
He can get the best out of players due to his management style.
McClaren has very good connections regarding loans and transfers. He's the only one on this list that would allow Rooney to potentially be assistant manager.
He is also very up to date on who we are as a club. He follows us and through Opta stats. He knows about our youth policy and he thinks it's great.

People say ''time to move on'' all the time about Martin and McClaren, but the reason people haven't moved on is simple. We've never brought in a manager that has close to achieved what Mac did, and we've never signed a striker half as competent as Martin in the time he's been here. When we do that, people will move on.

No. The squad is average at best. Lawrence (1 in 10) is classed as one of our better players. No striker. Waghorn needs several clear cut chances. We don’t know how good Joswiak is yet. Bielik on paper is a £10m player. The kids are what they are, kids, learning all the time.
How is it a Top 6 squad? There’s a lot more than five clubs with better squads than Derby.
Forget Rooney exists. It’s not a strong squad.

give them confidence and an identity. Play good football, score goals, probably concede some too but we seem to do that no matter who's in charge anyway.

What a waste of money and effort. We should purely be concentrating this planet sustainable to live on. You know that place with oxygen and temperature we can survive with.
