  1. They just make it up as they go along. I don't support Leicester breaking the rules but it's just clear to me that EFL is run by a cabal of club directors and go after clubs base on what they feel is right. We need a regulator and proper process.
  2. If derby get promoted I would expect 75% of our games to be on TV or streamed next season under this deal. I hope rams tv continues next season as it is but if there's no domestic streaming wouldn't be surprised if it's cut down a bit. The EFL completely bottled it with this deal. I would say though that piracy (dodgy firesticks and the like) probably help lead to this outcome. If they were responsible for their own revenue the risk is just very high that people use that over paying for an EFL product. I think they could have partnered with Amazon or YouTube and got them broadcasted on their platforms that people were familiar with. They probably thought that they didn't want an ITV Digital style collapse either that puts them all at risk.
  3. I think that's the main point for me - what on earth have they been doing since the last game? Thought they'd be refreshed, motivated and up for the challenge.
  4. Could only watch the last half an hour but some bad decisions from players tonight in the final third and the set pieces were rubbish. That last FK needed to be a shot at goal.
  5. I think max verstappen was on the screen for about 30seconds in this race. I'm not even entirely sure what verstappen does can even be considered racing. He just drives fast.
  6. If we beat Wycombe and Pompey beat Bolton I think we're there. I'm very nervous about Wycombe now. It's been 28 years since we were last promoted automatically... It's not exactly something we're used to as a fan base and you can tell in nerves of the fans.
  7. Guess next q is do we want Pompey win against Bolton or are we still in title race?
  8. Looked a difficult second half. Portsmouth probably feel they're as good as promoted now.
  9. I think Salzburg is a great choice for a break for a weekend. It's a great town, doesn't feel too busy, some nice traditional places to eat/drink and its got great countryside around it. Airport is pretty small and very close to the city on a bus/taxi so you aren't messing around.
  10. Dwight Gayle, what a signing. Incredibly lucky with the decisions.
  11. If be livid if I was Reading. Lucky I'm not though.
  12. I like the rams daily podcast. Living far, far, away from derby its a great way of keeping up to date.. along with RamsTV. It'll be a massive shame when the BBC run out of money and they have to have one broadcast for each game. Back in the mel era when I guess the budget was a bit higher, I really enjoyed the RamsTV meets series.
  13. Yeah that's true however in this case she was born as a UK Citizen. It essentially leads to a different class of citizenship if it can be revoked if you've got another citizenship.
  14. I think it's dangerous that you can have your citizenship given by birth taken away on the basis that you're eligible/hold other citizenship.
  15. What wound me up about the charges (and still does) is the fact that it appeared that they were approved then retrospectively the decision or view changed. The later charges are a direct consequence of the inadequacy of oversight of the EFL. If we'd known they weren't going to be seen as compliant, then business would have been different. It's not evident in the findings by the tribunals that this was ever considered. An independent office of football regulation is needed.
  16. We gotta just adapt and move on. Ideally we'd only have to push through final 5/6 games but at the stage people just have to pull together and sort a system out to make it work.
  17. You're right - probably could have done but the flexibility and redrafting is just much faster. It's also on tap, I don't need to manage their resourcing to fit in these tasks and have them working on stuff that produces more value and frankly they prefer doing. At the end of the day people will learn how to use the technology to their advantage and to make their job easier and you're right, the nature and requirements of jobs will gradually change. There are some tasks I wish I could automate more easily or flexibly instead of wasting good staff time. I guess the risk in that in a few decades time is people will find it extremely difficult to write without directing a natural language model.
  18. I think stuff like chat gpt etc is pretty powerful. I've been using MS autopilot to help me this week write parts of reports and presentations. We aren't permitted to use chatgpt as it harvests your data. It's not perfect but it's a good start and edit it to add details, reword etc. I can see how it impacts jobs though, this is a task that I may have given a junior member of staff..
  19. I think there's still a bit of a way to go before roles get fully replaced (although customer support roles are already being replaced in part) but I can see a lot of benefits to low-risk technical design being done through AI.
