No L1 CM aged 23 or younger got more from open play last season. 2 players in L2 did, Watt (8) and Brieley (6), none in the Champiomship, and only Willock (6) got more in the PL.

Whilst I wouldn’t be jumping for joy if he returned, he’s 33 years old and this would be the first season in his career outside the top 2 tiers of English football. That’s pretty impressive and you don’t have that kind of career without being a good footballer and a great professional.
