Mike Ashley is a successful and astute businessman. As he hasn't invented anything, his success is rooted in leveraging value from distressed assets. 
It's a relatively straightforward concept. I've been advising an organisation with whom Ashley is trying to do a deal to offload the house of fraser pension scheme. 
So he buys cheap and quick, then has a look at liabilities he can offload and assets he can easily exploit to increase value. Eg by using the ground as a cheap advertising vehicle for his sports business. 
In NUFCs case, the asset side had already been done, so it was a big cost cutting exercise. 
Now there may be a certain amount of cost "fat" to be trimmed from DCFC, but that's a one time thing. We're hoping he wants to grow revenue by tilting for the Prem league. 
One cautionary note, his investment into NUFC was, like everyone else's, through loans. 110m or so of the purchase price from the Saudis went back to him. Was interest free mind, not like MSD. 
So it'll be interesting, but not I think messianic in terms of its impact on DCFC.

Me is well blessed! I was going to have to watch on Sky, then my wife said she’d arranged a day out so I’d have to watch a re-run. But then I got some DCFC socks, a hand-painted BBG picture and tickets to the match, with chauffeur so I can have a few!

2021 hasn't been easy for a lot of people, even tougher for us Derby County fans that have had to endure and will continue to do so the sleepless nights with the unthinkable, the threat of our club facing possible liquidation. 
I just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year, without you, this community would not be here, the community that has allowed fans from not just around the country, but the world to come together and help each other through these difficult times and I'm sure will continue to do so through next year and beyond.
For any players, management, staff, anyone connected to the club that may also be reading this, Happy New Year to you also, I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure many others will agree, you are all making us so proud to be a Ram, we cannot ask anymore from you.
Let's all go and smash 2022 ?
 

Just about scraped myself off the ceiling - ooh, err matron!
Great team selection tonight, another fantastic blood and guts performance from the lads, laced with no small amount of good football too. Further credit to Wayne and the coaches; the right subs made at precisely the right time. Full kudos, they got it absolutely spot on tonight in every regard. 
For my part, I can't help but love this squad. For years now, even under Mac1 when we had a seriously good footballing side, we always had something of a soft centre. These lads, however, are tough as teak and are showing just the kind of gritty resolve we've so often lacked. In an era when most players seem to be all about themselves, these lads play for each other and the fans. Just watch how they react to every challenge, every save, every goal and every point secured. We talk about pride in the shirt and rightly so. These lads have it in spades. And what about those fans of ours! Our lot are now indisputably the most rabidly fervent collective of madheads anywhere in the EFL. No contest! 
All these elements combined have topped off a wonderful festive period for me and mine and I really hope for yous lot too. With another 4 days before I even consider doing any work again and the chance to pop another 3 points on the board in the interim, this has been a holiday I'll not forget for a long while and I'm bursting with pride for this maddening, yet wonderful club of ours. Folks have espoused the opinion that suitors would be mad to invest in Derby County FC. Personally, I think they'd be mad not to.

Hi just signed up after years lucking in the shadows, sit in SW Upper ...fullest it has been all season by a huge margin ...even singing in concourse at HT ..can’t remember that in three years I have been in this stand, me and my mates all  thought 23 to 26k given 3k. wBA fans...having said that don’t care ...the support was amazing last 30 mins...have to go back to a full house v Brighton to remember it being that good ......hard being a DCFC fan at times, ( understatement of the year) but we are a special club and the heartbeat of the City 

Rush and his pals for me.....the more Mel Morris tried to fling crap at him the more I've come to believe it was Morris who was the dodgy partner not Sam.
(And I saw the best football in years when Rush was involved)

This was my thought. It feels like a frustrated message from a competitive guy who hasn't got what he wanted. He'll know he needs MM to sign off on the stadium sale etc. and this seems counterintuitive. 
That or he knows MM has already formally agreed to the stadium being part of the deal...
