To be fair to him, any materials, articles, or objects (including self-made items), the use of which can result in the generation of smoke, heat and/or flames including lighters, matches, fireworks, flares, smoke bombs, and other smoke-emitting articles are prohibited.
Kinda makes sense now, doesn't it?

Wait what? Another puts a shift in midfielder as opposed to technical player?
I would call Hourihane and Bird technical (and too similar) players and our midfield lacks someone who can run around a bit.
    Sounds good signing for me.

Our bench vs Cheltenham was -
Wildsmith Bradley Thompson Fornah Fapetu Robinson Ward
No matter your opinion of Gregory you cannot deny if yoy put him on that bench he instantly improves it. Is he the man everyone wants, no, but will he improve our bench & offer something as a sub, yes he would

January is a tricky window.  Realistically any striker we’re looking to loan, as that’s all we can pay a small fee for unless we sell is going to look at Collins form with 18 goals and realise they’re 2nd choice, maybe lower than that once one of the others is fit.  That means there not going to be playing regular at their parent club.  If you’re that striker do you swap one bench for another?
Also, it makes getting a young PL loan tricky.  If you’re a PL club, do you loan your young striker to a club knowing he’s back up for the rest of the season?  Ideally you’ll want him playing around 75% of th3 time, may even stipulate it in the deal.
The summer is easier as it’s a clean slate and easier to cement your place.
Anyway, Gregory wouldn’t be a bad back up and will do a job, but I think I’d rather have Smith.

Lee Gregory would be fine if there is nothing else we can get in. He's experienced, will be a handful and I'd fancy him to chip in with a few goals.
What annoys me is I am reading some fans on twitter using this as a stick to beat Warne with. "I'm worried about Warne and our transfer policy if this is what we're doing"
Do you think if we sat Paul Warne in a room he'd say that Lee Gregory was his number one target and one he has always wanted?
No he wouldn't. Ideally he'd want a 24-27 year old proven league one striker who's ready to go and good enough to step up to the championship but if there are any available then 1. They aren't going to be sold and 2. If they were, we can't afford them. At all.
It's like our fans have seen that we have next to nothing, had to dip into a loan pot for CBT and are just ignoring that.
If Gregory comes in he'll get my support, he's a stop gap for the season. Gives us an option. Is he what I want? No. He's not. But he might be the best we can get given our budget.
I've seen people say they'll be livid if we sign Gregory and we should have kept Brown. Livid? If be more livid if we didn't bring someone in.
Brown is nowhere near ready yet. Thrusting a young player in early can ruin them.
I remember when we got linked with Jordan Rhodes and people were kicking off then. He's second top goalscorer now.
But alas, it's all Warnes fault. Warnes fault we've got no money, Warnes fault our midfield is poor when half of them are out injured.

We just need to play to Collins' strengths. He is not a lone striker, we all know that.

I agree. Seen some posts across social media, not too much on here I don’t think, but lots of our fans out there who have taken exception to Reading fans chanting at our expense and are now holding that up as justification to behave as arris holes towards Reading’s plight.

After what we experienced as a club and what it would have meant to us as individuals, collectively, and to the local community in Derby and surrounding areas I genuinely don’t get anyone wishing it on another club and set of fans. Odd behaviour in my opinion. Would much rather see our fans set a positive example, “be the better person” type thing.

I think this should be said - I hope Reading survive as a club and I really can't understand why any self aware Derby fan would feel any differently after what we went through

As long as there were no big surprises for DC after admin, presumably any Bielik payments etc were known about, surely these numbers are to be expected by the company and prob more importantly the EFL. Presumably they have seen them before publication and are happy in accordance with what they expected coming out of admin and our business plan or cant imagine we would have been able to sign someone on a fee yesterday.

cements my total admiration for DC and his family as they have gone from running a successful development company on a low key basis and enjoying being normal rams fans (if actually we can ever be normal) to taking all of this 💩on to deal with. Can you imagine the stuff he's had to deal with?  And after all that you have fans moaning about us not signing people, going over snd over the words the poor bloke said on the budget for this year forensically, and how terrible last January's window was, etc.
the accounts wont tell half the story but to me there are no words to describe what David Clowes and his family did for all of us, the club and the City. I also dont think we know just how close we were to being gone. Also in strange way grateful to Kirchner as if DC had not already been involved with knowledge of what was going on when just buying the stadium, would he have been in a position to act so quickly to save us?

I'd be surprised if this is not a long-term project for him and the club. He hasn't been fit in ages so maybe he is happy with how his fitness is being taken care of here.
Maybe the short-term goal is to stay fit this season and get some minutes. A medium-term goal could be a good pre-season with some bulking and buying shoes that make him stay on his feet.
The long-term goal is to shoot us up to PL.
When we are talking about persistent injury problems, I think the long-term approach is the only sensible one. And that might be the idea Warne has sold to him.
Speculative for sure, but wouldn't be surprised if so.
