  1. I thought so at the time too, and maybe you’re right, but on the other hand I genuinely think he improved since then and could have kicked on in a decent PL team. Lowe and Bogle have both managed to hold down places in Prem sides, and I’m not convinced that either of them has become a better player than CF at any point.
  2. Yep, me too. Watched it in absolute awe. That squad would have been mid table Prem, I'm sure. No Zenit in pre season, no ACL injury for George. Ollie Watkins in as a raw youngster to learn his trade. Couple of young CBs added too. Wisdom and Fozzie holding down those full back slots for years. Maybe it's our time again soon now...
  3. Thanks. Unlikely we’ll beat that then.
  4. Apologies if this has already been brought up elsewhere, but if I’m correct then the goals from Adams and Ward in recent games have taken us up to 19 goalscorers in league games this season. Is that a club record? (Appreciate I could google it, but where’s the fun in that?) CBT is clearly the most likely to get us up to a round 20, followed by Elder, Wildsmith, Brown, Robinson (D or K), Radcliffe in (rapidly) decreasing order of likelihood.
  5. Is there any confirmed news about his injury / time out? I'm seeing comments about inflatable boots and season over but can't find anything definitive.
  6. I have always been convinced that this would happen one day. Perhaps not yet though. He’s still only 28. A Seth Johnson-esque return to get us promoted to the Prem would be magical, even if it’s in another 4 or 5 years. At least he would find it easy to fit back in, knowing that a 93-year-old Fozzie was always in space and available for an out ball on the left, zimmer frame notwithstanding.
  7. I’ll shed an actual tear (or two) when he finally leaves us. He is still a link to that amazing second half of the 13/14 season, which was as enjoyable as anything I can remember (going back to early 80s). But he has also been that reassuring presence throughout the dark times, ten(?) managers and countless left backs, all inferior. Still quality, still a Ram.
  8. Stuck in Inverness for this one, so I’m relying on you all to keep posting in this thread today. Off to watch Caledonian Thistle as a distraction to ease the stress, but not convinced it’s going to help at all.
  9. Imagine a 442 with Martin and Gayle, during the Cocu era. Sorry. Not sure what happened there…
  10. Not sure about PGW, but that has a definite air of Stuart Hall about it…
  11. Agent Springett scores equaliser for the Cobblers
  12. There is something Bryson-esque about that goal. In more ways than one...
  13. And pretty unlucky, given that he helped change the game last weekend.
  14. Saint Etienne are the masters of this. "Eubank wins the fight, And did you see the KLF last night?" Nothing says early nineties quite like it.
  15. To be fair, the 4-0 against Northampton was pretty well controlled…
  16. Such sad news. I hope that Daniel’s loved ones will see this thread and realise quite how much he touched the hearts of so many complete strangers. There were times, many times, when he spoke for us all. Is it too much to expect a minute’s applause in the fourth minute on Tuesday night?
