Christ, why does it bloody matter. Fully grown adults shouldn't need a manager to wave at them. Or players.

Sir Cocu's calm and precise analysis of the Stoke match surely shows a master at work.
He's unhappy at four points lost, despite a far from ideal and rather short pre-season. This shows the high winning standard he has set for the squad. No talk of the last 12 games being the key to promotion - every game is the key to promotion from August onwards.
He explains how he saw the first half today and why he made what some saw as baffling changes. He then describes succintly the resulting improvement whilst calmly listing the failings which need to be eliminated.
He doesn't talk about Plans A or B, he analyses what's happening in the match and changes formations, tactics and players as soon as the need is evident.
Our captain who's had more than his fair share of club and international managers, says training is an eye-opener. Gradually, we can see why.
Sir Cocu is taking our club to a higher level than I can recall in many decades. No banal generalities, no superficial banter with the interviewer. The players ere expected to work hard mentally as well as physically.
It seems to me that Frank relied on a team formula of hard work, energy, and pressing whilst he motivated the players with his personality, humour and winning determination. Frustratingy it didn't always work, especially away to inferior teams. In contrast, our new management is more cerebral and concentrates on developing each player's technical and positioning and adaptability skills, as well as the team performance. So those players of any age who want to improve themselves and be stretched will relish the fabulous opportunity. Those that don't or can't will fall by the wayside, if the steely glint in the manager's eye is anything to go by.
Of course there will be setbacks and disappointments. But there's some real building work going on here and it's a privilege to see it unfold.
Thanks DCFC for the astute and synergistic investment in facilities and management.

£4.50? Have I been done then? I paid £4.80 in the fan park. This was only because we took the train instead of driving so arrived quite early
Don’t like the offerings in the ground so don’t buy any more. We used to buy 2 pies, a beer and a coffee. Now we don’t because the pies are awful, the beer is awful and awful is too kind a word for the coffee, it indescribable how vile it is, can only be the water??

I think they make us sound worse too, not the same as when you’re actually there. When the opposition get near the goal they ramp up the excitement, up the volume and the listeners usually expect the ball to go in the net. If you’re sat there watching you don’t feel that way. I only listed when I’ve no other choice.

ramage doesn't bother me. He has alot of airtime to fill and can get drawn into subject areas where he hasn't fully thought through what he is forced to yabber on about. Much of what he says seems pretty accurate to me.
But ed dawes is just horrible to listen too.

We went for the first time. Won’t bother again.
Hot, stinky and sweaty in there. Cash only (card machine broke) and £4:80 for a pint of what they said was Carling. The bar staff were devoid of personality and conversation skills. An old fella playing far too loud old pop tunes on a disco turntable. Huge bouncer on the door with impressive dreads moaning about the number of people trying to get in and then get out again with their drinks. This isn’t allowed, and it’s not his fault.
    Big fat 👎

Genuine question, off the back of some comments regarding food prices and beer prices.
Do people think £30 for today is a bit expensive for a championship game?  It looks like £30 is the cheapest for the games released so far.
I know we always have this discussion every season but it seems a line in the sand has been drawn.
    For me, its too much.

If you get bladdered on Pedigree you'd not be in a position to blame anyone else. A Pedi hangover is a full day on the sofa with a pillow over your head.

Couldn't disagree more I'm afraid. Thought Lawrence was by far our worst player on the pitch tonight. Both goals very lucky. Tbh he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team squad, give me Mason Bennett over him any day of the week.

Whatever happened to people taking responsibility for their own actions? I’ve watched football for a long time and never been influenced by any of it. I don’t drink Pedigree, I didn’t buy Avon tyres either. I don’t gamble and this isn’t going to make me. If I got bladdered on Pedigree should I blame Derby for having them sponsor a suite?
