  1. Vickers wasn’t the problem tonight. He had little to do. I prefer Wildsmith too by the way. The problems lie elsewhere.
  2. TJJ will be out for ages now too. I would say that’s a blow as he’s one of few strikers we have, but Warnes played him wide and he’s been crap there and centrally. Sums up a shocker of a night.
  3. Hopefully the Clowes accounts being released hasn’t resulted in a rethink of our business plan by the EFL. Could do with him for Tuesday but won’t happen now.
  4. Carlisle fans don’t really give a glowing reference of Moxon here. Sounds as though he’s been poor in league 1 and has had a contract dispute most of the season. https://thebuzzisback.boards.net/thread/48/owen-moxon-thread
  5. This window should be about improving the team now, not for the future. Dobra has 6 in 23 at national league level. That hardly screams out as an automatic first choice and an improvement on Wilson or Barkhuizen. Can’t see it myself.
  6. Unfortunately Sibley may be one. He’s a shadow of what he was 3 years ago. Such a shame.
  7. I think it’s backfired us not playing some more youngsters now in this competition. We’ve learnt nowt from playing our first team players and now don’t have a final to fall back on. This was an ideal time to sound out the Weston’s, Robinsons, Browns and Fapetu. The league was always the priority, but a final would’ve been nice. This was an ideal opportunity wasted to give some U18s/23s a go.
  8. It will be interesting to compare the fees received for Cashin and Ronnie Edwards at Peterborough. Edwards is very highly thought of and has reportedly had Palace and West Ham interested. Edwards looked a slightly classier version, quicker too. Posh normally get good value from their sales. Both could leave in the next 12 months.
  9. No tickets sold in both the East Stand near the away fans or lower SW corner. No idea on the reasons for the SW corner, it’s been empty for at least 2 seasons. Bizarre.
  10. Agreed, it was very average. It seemed like he was trying too hard to shock. It also seemed like he was using the C bomb to get cheap laughs. He’s not my fave stand up, his TV series work is better, Super Nature was class though. This was an extended, and poorer, version of that.
  11. I think people need to stop panicking about overspending. We’re never going to do that now. I hope plans haven’t changed. We made the mistake last year thinking we had enough, and didn’t. We need a wide man and a centre forward as a minimum. If those 2 are quality, I’ll be happy with just that. We need to be ruthless in the second half of the season. Top 2 is on. It’s up to us to smash it.
  12. A good win and the perfect away performance for the first hour. We looked the real deal today, good to see. A word on Barkhuizen. He’s good, but abysmal at finishing. He needs to be chipping in with 8-10 goals a season. He’s awful in this department. For me, this is a priority position on Jan. Wilson has been superb, but he’s a converted wingback playing higher up, he doesn’t look comfortable scoring either. Our wide players should be chipping in more. Hopefully Warne brings someone in to help this area. Great win though, Cashin and Nelson imperious. Class acts at this level.
  13. Played well for the majority of the half. Last 5-10 not great though. Good pressing and football through midfield. Looking dangerous going forward. Not convinced by NML penalty claim, think he was looking at it in first glance. Fornah looked more of a pen.
  14. Completely disagree. He had acres of space to run into.He didn’t need to pass, he had options. He was under absolutely zero pressure. He had team mates both sides or forward and the pass to Forsyth was a simple one. It was terrible play by Hourihane. Real schoolboy, lazy football.
  15. Sibley needs to do better. He’s been very average this season I’m afraid and I’m a big fan. His emergence under Cocu seems a long time ago. If he’s not careful, he’ll have a Marc Bridge Wilkinson/ Callum Guy type career rather than a top top player. Still better than all of us can muster, but it’d be a big disappointment if that is the case. Unfortunately he’s not really pulling up any trees against poor league 1 teams. He’s lost that bite that made him such a talent. It’s been coached out of him and his confidence looks shot. Having said all that, Hourihane and Smith were awful in midweek. Warne needs to realise that this balance isn’t a great one. What Hourihane was doing for the second goal I’ll never know. He had acres of space and made a shocking pass then a feeble attempt to win it back. So poor.
  16. It is pretty pathetic blaming it on health and safety though. A slip hazard apparently, especially when granted permission. I’m not one of those ‘we all know the real reason’ by the way. It’s just pretty lame and a sad reflection of health and safety gone mad.
  17. No way is this season a ‘free hit’. I’m surprised anyone thinks this. Warne has had all of last season to assess the squad and stamp his authority on the team/club. Regardless of any business plans, we have to get play offs this season as a bare minimum. Failure to do that and it should be bye bye. The longer you stay in League 1, the harder it becomes to get promoted. We’d lose Bird, Cashin etc and replace them with more mediocre signings. We’ve never been in this league for longer than 2 seasons in 139 years. I don’t think we should start accepting that prospect either. It’s a poor league this year, unfortunately, so far we’re equally as average. Here’s hoping things pick up.
  18. He was excellent last night, scored a very good goal and was involved constantly. Previous to that, I think he’s been quite poor. Poor link up, poor decisions or final ball. He’s not looked that quick either. It has nothing to do from coming from Rotherham, he’s just looked average. Maybe he’s not been fully fit, as last night he was class. Fingers crossed he can continue that level of performance against more advanced opponents.
  19. Interesting logic. Ironically Bruce very nearly got the job instead of Smith in 1995. Thankfully he didn’t as history would’ve been very different. Fingers crossed he doesn’t get it this time either!
  20. There’s not a chance a Prem team will be looking at Sibley. I like Sibley but he has to do better. Should’ve scored yesterday with a very good chance and didn’t impress hugely. I hope he keeps his place, but not sure where he fits into our current system.
  21. Winning football top trumps style of football for me too. The problem now is we’re not winning and as soon as that happens playing the way we are cracks appear. Same happened under Rowett. We were top 2 at Christmas and then it went south. The football was similar but results weren’t and the pressure built. Warne is protected by the contract. Can’t see us doing anything, so we have to grin and bear it. Could be a long winter.
  22. It’s awful. The first series was alright, but the 2nd is comfortably one of the worst ‘comedies’ I’ve seen. Backs up my theory that the US don’t do sitcoms well.
