roboto got a reaction from Ram@Lincoln in James Collins
At the time, when you don't have the benefit of being able to watch frame by frame replays of the incident, it did look like a red to me. Since going back over the clips of the incident, it looks more like he was hitting the ground in frustration, but perhaps with the knowledge that he might catch a bit of the PV player in doing so.
The reaction of the PV players got him sent off as I don't think the ref really saw much of the incident. However, I don't understand how a player can't be cautioned for a two handed push on another player. That is an act of aggression that could further escalate a situation and the referee took no action.

Accrington Stanley v Derby County
Saturday 15th October
3pm at the Wham Stadium
Back by almost popular demand!
And some people think that Pride Park is an embarrassing name for a stadium ?

Nothing is beginning. I just hope this is just some teething pains with the change of plan and tactics.
Really I blame @David for stealing the match day thread…

Say what you like about 2nd half performances under Rosenior, but these last 2 games of Warne ball haven’t really shown any great improvement in our game management. In fact, we look like headless chickens all over the pitch.
I hope this is just the players learning how Warne wants to play rather than the actual tactics.

roboto got a reaction from RoyMac5 in Will Grewal-Pollard joined Belper on loan
League clubs can't sign anyone outside of the transfer window, so this is a short term opportunity to get some matches and be tested outside of the youth system. I guess he will be back and maybe looking for a higher division loan in January.

Yeah. It underlines your point because you’ve twisted the facts to make it suit your argument.
He has had 2 professional contracts. One year at Derby which he completed and the one he signed at Palace.

6 years at Chelsea and 4 years at Arsenal before he moved to Rangers Academy to give a different academy a go. Then he came to Derby (closer to home) where he managed to make his senior debut and attract premier league interest. His 13th season in the football business and his 5th club (Palace are his local club), not too out of the ordinary in the football world.

Everyone's a fashion critic here!
I'm sure, once the season is over and we romp to over 100 points, these shirts will be iconic in our new era and you'll all bloody love them... ?

I suggest you watch South of the River, which is currently on Netflix and was filmed before he joined us if you want to know about his inflated ego... on there you see him as a 16 year-old who was just released from Arsenal for his reaction to a training ground altercation, he seems to take this news in his stride and eventually signs for Rangers, which he is over the moon about because it gives him another chance to make it as a professional player. Also in the series (it's only 3 episodes) you see him playing against other players in his school who were all at academies too and he is easily the best player there (taking the ball past people with ease) and playing with a smile on his face.
The guy has no ego. Definitely compared to some other players or highly paid sportspeople. His swagger is due to the fact that he has to prove himself on a daily basis to make it even as far as he has.

roboto got a reaction from angieram in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Wasn’t there some news from the recent supporter meeting that said the business plan was flexible based on how our financial health looked going forward. Also that it was planned based on worst case scenario figures, and our ticket sales have helped a lot.
Perhaps there is some flexibility for a signing or loan with a small fee if we can agree it won’t put us off track with the business plan.

The centre of a back 3 is usually the one that needs to do the least running. Someone that can command the line and use experience to make blocks and head away long balls and crosses. Cashin has the energy to be more mobile on that left side (Roberts and Fozzy also fit this position. I'm more concerned about Chester's fitness, but hopefully he can get up to speed quickly and do a job. Stearman and Rooney as cover on the right side.
If he sets up 3-1-4-2 like he has with Rov'rum recently then I'd like to see one of Smith or Bird as the solo CDM (Smith when physicality is needed, Bird if we want someone to play the QB role) then pair Knight with Hourihane/Sibley further ahead.
I still think our squad is more suited to a 3-4-2-1 with Sibley and McGoldrick behind Collins for the attack. I'm excited to see what this new chapter will be like.

Hopefully PW can hit the ground running and put some people's minds at ease with regards to his tactics.
Yes, Rotherham did play long ball when he first started, but it seems as though he was phasing that out as he built his squad and acquired better quality players. With the team he has here then I hope he gets the tactics right to suit their skill levels.
Being a former fitness coach, I hope it sees the team being able to put in high quality performances for the full 90 mins.
