  1. A lot of hype (justified) over the dry dock hits but also worth noting; a successful hit on the S-400 battery near Yevpatoriya last night that was comically revealed by a Russian tourist last summer. Unfortunately the RADAR looks intact but at least one launcher is completely destroyed. Some interesting takes out there on how the Ukrainians are manipulating one of Russia's most deadly SAM systems to be able to attack it.

If we didn't have Collins upfront and Mcgoldrick was fit from the start of the season he wouldn't have been sacked,Collins being a donkey lost him his job.

Think it’s too easy to pile in on Collins. LR was the one who signed him.

I don’t recall anyone having a mare but Knight’s misses vs Charlton and Fleetwood stick in the mind. Probably stopped a decent start becoming a very good one.

Unless it was absolute amateur hour behind the scenes, hard to really say why he deserved replacing. Being outplayed by Lincoln and Plymouth and the fan reaction to both probably lost him his job, we looked alright other than that.

I always thought rose tinted specs was just an expression but clearly you’ve got connections at specsavers.

Can you get me a pair? f*** it, if we’re going to keep playing football this way get me two and I’ll PayPal you the money over.

I know right, outrageously rosey. 165 minutes of decent performance out of a total of 450 available. Unbelievably positive!

But we didn’t deserve anything out of today did we 🤔

We didn't deserve anything at Wembley in 2007 but didn't ruin our day and turn us all into misery guts did it?

There's games in a season when you're crap and deserve nothing, part and parcel of it. The bigger issue here is the lack of improvement since the start of the season but it's still early days, I'm not at panic stations yet.

How many games this season do you think we have played well in?

    Well?

60 mins Wigan, 45 mins Burton, 60 mins Peterborough.

    OK vs Fleetwood.

Poor vs Oxford, poor today. Teams play poorly though, would have happily snatched a draw today and been content with the days work with a two week break now up. Not to be.

Oh move on you sanctimonious git.

We had a freak 20 minutes where everything we did resulted in a goal after 25 minutes of being taught a footballing lesson. I celebrated everyone of those goals as I would normally. I was buzzing watching that period from goal 1 to halftime. I enjoyed that period of the match.

I celebrated and enjoyed our goal today.

That doesn’t mean you can’t recognise that performances have been bad. Really bad. The life was sucked out of this thread by our inability to pass to our own players, aimless balls Down the channel and a Bolton side who look a division better than us.

A reply which literally highlights my point - you say Peterborough taught us a 25 min footballing lesson but our 20 minutes were freak? The build up? The crossing? The finishing? All freak? The defending and game control for the period after half time? It's the biggest load of biased crap I've read all day, purely because you (and others) refrain from giving the slightest bit of praise to a manager you're all set on leaving.

I'm all for calling a spade a spade - today was one of those. Not good enough, despite the circumstances. We're just miles apart on opinion of how last week went - a great victory and a performance that is no where near as bad as some of you are making out.

  7. I'll make this easy.

    @IlsonDerby  @Justa @8Leeds  @oodledoodle

I literally couldn't care either way with Paul Warne.

If you want to put the whole 90 last week down to luck and a purple patch, that's your prerogative. Miserable but it's your opinion. My opinion is you've absolutely sucked the life out of this thread with post after post of unbalanced, negative crap. But that's just me.

    Enjoy the (likely) defeat.

Where we played a back 4 in the first half. Which then changed in the second half in which we barely had a shot in target and conceded.
Spin it how you like mate, he’s a crap manager/coach.

Not spinning anything, just pointing out things that actually happened which were conveniently left out of your argument.

FWIW, not arsed either way about PW. Just sick of seeing rubbish, unbalanced posts.

We played well for 15 minutes.

Just ignore it then - fits the argument better that way.

Not bothered about the 20 mins after half time where we completely killed the game off either? Each to their own but it's a pretty miserable outlook.

  10. Great win, didn't see it coming. We were all at sea for the first 20 but the goal really woke us up and we didn't look back from there on in. I've been critical of Smith and Hourihane but from 20 mins onwards they were good - really good. Thommo was everywhere. Waghorn doesn't need any more praise, performance spoke for itself. The controlled period after half time was nice to see too, settled things down for 20 after the break and allowed us to make subs whilst being in total control of the game. A few set piece scares but expected when leading a good Peterborough side at home.

On Rooney - had a tough day at the office but I doubt he'll come up against many better left wingers in this division. Hopefully takes plenty away from today and uses it to improve. No need to panic at RB.

Still loads of room for improvement but got to be happy with that.

Does nobody in the Championship or League 1 want to take him off our hands?

Asking the wrong person but can't imagine anyone in this league paying him what we are.

I didn’t hear anyone moaning when we signed the then Premier League player. Shouts of ‘we are going to win the league’ were heard.

I didn't see anyone moaning about the signings of Ward, Elder and Bradley but it doesn't mean they're good players on inspection, does it?

Hourihane is fine at this level but you can't ignore his age, mobility and how he fits with CM's currenlty at the football club (Bird, Thommo). I think it's a worthwhile point to consider, if he is our assumed highest paid player - could we have got in two younger, more effective CM's instead that offer us a it more in areas in which we're lacking.

I appreciate it was bodies in over the long term plan last season but a year down the line I'm unsure whether our rushed business was great and is a major part of the pickle we find ourselves in.

So if we haven’t got the funds why were we able to recruit who we did last year? Connor Hourihane, Tom Barkhuizen, Korey Smith and James Collins all came from the leagues above. They were not put on long contracts, perhaps two years for most, which means the wages were reasonably competitive.

    Isn’t this half the problem?

A bunch of players who most deem not good enough to be in the starting 11, taking up most of our wage budget. Hourihane has obvious ability but is probably our highest paid player - a wage that would be pretty handy for a rebuild of the football club.

Warne got promoted with Rotherham because he inherited a squad good enough to be promoted.

    Seems a stretch.

He only got them promoted (3 times in 5 years) because of the squad he inherited? What about the 2 other promotions over a four year period? No credit due for bringing the likes of Ogbene, Barlaser, Smith, Ihiekwe, Harding, Ladapo etc to the club in his time?

I think it's fair to say he has his limitations but promotions aren't a given at any level, certainly not with Rotherham United in a league generally full of 'sleeping giants'. I get that he may not be everybody's cup of tea or even the right man to take us up but at least consider the whole picture, there's certainly more to PW than just luckily inheriting a squad during his time up at Rov'rum.

    You've lost me. I've not listened to Warne's sarcastic 'Cashin's goodbye's' joke.

”He doesn’t care, he wants Cashin gone”

”Warne is trying to make it as difficult as he can for Cashin to sign a deal and stay”

Just wondered what these claims were based on. Seems to be a reply to his joke tonight, nothing more.
