  1. I was watching Ice Age with my little one last night and thought of Waggy in this scene.
  2. I'm not sure how much I can pin on Warne for Saturday. Surely he couldn't have instructed the players to hoof the ball up in those conditions? Did he tell Sonny Bradley to headbutt that player and rule him out for 3 games? I've never been a fan of Warne however I pin alot of Saturday on players. Missing ridiculous chances, lack of discipline, insane decisions on the ball. Okay, he should have made changes at half time however the players should take accountability. I can put my opinions aside of him for this season because we have got an unbelievable chance for automatic promotion. It's the next level where I am interested to see how he performs. Will he completely rebuild the squad as he's hinted at because I sincerely hope he does. Players like Sonny Bradley shouldn't be anywhere near the first team squad in the championship. Nothing personal, we don't need liabilities on high wages. More players like Adams and Nyambe is the way to go. They suit Warne football perfectly.
  3. Put it this way, if we don't finish 2nd now then it'll be the worst bottling since last season.
  4. What makes it worse for me is I'm fairly certain Paul Warne said something along the lines of "Sonny doesn't want to be playing league one football, he wants to be in the championship." Could you really see him playing championship football next season? He's got to be one of the worst technical footballers I've seen for a long time. At least the likes of Darren Moore and Curtis Davies would always win headers. I'd stick with Nelson and Cash for the foreseeable.
  5. Channeling the powers of Emile Heskey, Mikel Beck and Michael Rickets. Can't hit a barn door today!
  6. I'm assuming once they get relegated, they would have to sell alot of players to stay within FFP? I know they have those parachute payments but I would have thought the outgoings would be considerable in terms of their wages and the attendance dropping. Just shows, £250 million spent on transfers with no plan and look where they are now. I do raise a smile when Derby have come back from the abyss, yet in summer we may well be playing our neighbours who had it all and blew it because of their own poor planning and management.
  7. Sore head today. Trying to digest the match, it was exactly how I thought it was going to be. 50/50 match. Okay, Bolton had more possession and looked more dangerous on the ball but ultimately they did not create anywhere near enough chances. Wildsmith with some unbelievable saves kept us in the game early on. Defensively our best game of the season. Nobody was getting past the back 3. They were collosal. Everybody got stuck in and threw their bodies on the line. It was an excellent display of discipline and solidity. We treated it like a cup final (that lovely clique) and we won. 4 points clear in 2nd. 5 wins out of the 7 remaining games should do it. We can afford to have a stinker of the match if for whatever reason the team have an off day. Looking at the remaining fixtures, this is a golden opportunity for the automatic spots. You never know, we might have the chance to celebrate our promotion on the final day. Have a great day out with no stress. After supporting Derby County for 30+ years, we might actually get over the line comfortably for a change! I'm glad to see the supporters put aside their opinions on the manager and really drive the team along. Everyone can sense it, we are close to getting out of this pit of a division. We can debate about how Warne will tackle the Championship in the summer when we're bored silly, waiting for England to start their Euros campaign. I've moaned about him enough this season but I can bury my feelings about him and focus on the team getting the points in the bag. Fingers crossed we can have a natural striker fit to get us to the end.
  8. Tell me about it. Those blue noses pelted us in the South Stand with bottles, coins, ripped up seats and god knows what. Absolutely awful. Disgusting thugs. Many of them had no intention of watching the football. I'm all for a laugh and trading insults. Physically hurting people is definitely crossing the line. It's a shame because it will put off the club ever truly filling up the ground because of morons like them.
  9. Different class today. Actually putting in proper crosses as well, pays off big time. Well done PW and team 🐏🐏
  10. Golden opportunity for promotion this year. Reading and Wigan will definitely be stronger next season and on a level playing field. On top of the relegated teams coming down. Bolton is obviously the big match. Our final 4 games look pretty easy considering 3 of them will be packing their bags for the beach and Carlisle have gone already (sorry Mr Warne, not all league one teams are difficult). Barnsley are the dark horses, they've been superb for awhile and been creeping up on 2nd place. The doomer in me reckons that defeat against them might have been the confidence boost for Barnsley to go for the automatic places. We might as well just go all out at this stage. None of this sitting in, defend yourself dreary naff. Our squad has the quality, just go for it. We have nothing to lose since the play offs are pretty much guaranteed. Have a go!
  11. Last night unfortunately exposed all of Paul Warne's flaws as a manager. Even before Wildsmith's kamikaze moment, the lack of ball retention after going 1-0 up was appalling. Sunday morning rushing to get the ball forward which caused so many unforced errors. What has the manager got against keeping the ball for 10-15 minutes? I know it's dull and boring, we have got to be smarter in certain games. Charlton were a terrible team and we somehow gifted them a win. Derby had most of the control in the first half. We got the goal, beautiful header by Cashin and another assist for NML. Came out in the 2nd half and kept giving the ball away by forcing it forward. Charlton's press was very aggressive in the 2nd half. Instead of playing it around Charlton and exposing them, we kept pumping the ball forward. In a game where patience and calm was required, we absolutely fell apart. Making our lives more difficult sums up this season. Even though we've been accumulating a really healthy points total, it has been a proper slog to get points on the board. I hope this is just a small blip and we will get back to form on Saturday!
  12. Thought Ed was very much improved, more balanced and less moaning at the officials. Actually commentating on the game. To say he's not been commentating for awhile, excellent from him. I get the impression Eric Steele can't stand Paul Warne football. He used to be more upbeat and positive with his analysis, for example when Cocu was in charged. Maybe he is more of a fan of the possession based style rather than Warne's counter attacking set up. He definitely simmers his opinion on the football being presented, rightly or wrongly. I wish Malcolm Christie still lived in the area. He would be an excellent full time commentator alongside Ed or Dom. You can tell he has got his passion back for football and tries to gain positives out of performances with his insights.
  13. I think Ipswich last season would have something to say to be honest. Although it's quite clear 90% of the football from all sides in this league is tragic.
  14. Barnsley were really up for this one. First half was good to watch, back and forth and both sides created chances. Panicked in the second half and the football became a hot potato of hoof and "av it". Not a big concern thanks to Bolton losing. I have seen a lot worse under Warne. He tried to keep in solid, adding in another midfielder. Backfired unfortunately and it was too late at the end.
  15. Complete contrast to last week. Both teams up for it. Cracking equaliser. Great game so far.
  16. His morning meds.
  17. I know groups of 6-8 have been hiring a mini van taxi for the day to take them to away games. Works out cheaper than a train for the longer distances and the taxi actually turns up on time. A shame that folks are having to result to this. It's not manageable for smaller groups.
  18. £60 increase. Across the season that's about £7 a month more. Breaking it down like that seems easier on the eye. That's only the price of a pint and a half nowadays.
  19. Signed for prison FC after a successful trial.
  20. One big plus about Paul Warne is we can definitely compete with our rivals in this league. Granted, we had that Stevenage away performance (let's forget that horror show) but on the whole we always look like we're in the game, even if we don't win. It was not a good game of football although Steve Evans was very much the instigator for making it a real slogfest. Warne is going to tick the promotion box. I'll put my neck on the line. Especially with signing Gayle who's a great footballer for this level, if he can play 60 minutes a match I'm happy. I can whine and moan about the football on show, Warne knows how to escape the league. I think in hindsight, all sides of the fan base want this. It has been a laugh playing League One teams, 3 seasons of this level would become a joke. I just pray he takes the standard up another level next season in the Championship.
  21. I can't deny Warne is a superb away from home manager. I can knock his style of football all I want, his away form is excellent. I just wish he could have some more bottle at home and make it easier for ourselves when playing in front of 27-28k supporters.
  22. Never mind, we can bring on another striker just in case. Oh.
  23. 3 yellow cards in 3 matches. We can't moan midfield are lightweight anymore. Ebouuuuuuuuuuuu
  24. Does love to duck and dive that bloke. I thought DC would kept him in temporarily to go through the books, make sure there were no more nasty surprises in our way, then let Pearce go, thanks for your service etc. I know there's many NDAs in place and we will never get to the bottom behind the truth of our downfall. I'm at peace with it now. Let's see if Pearce can redeem himself with the faith DC has put into him.
