  1. Feel better soon mate. I like it up there. I've friends in Bradford and a load of us trip up to Hebden Bridge every year or two, which is a beautiful little town with lots of great bars and places to eat. Talking of which, I've also had some amazing curries in Bradford. Serving me good curry is pretty much the easiest way to get into my good books, so Bradford's alreet with me.
  2. If you don't like Vine, whoever he is, fair enough, but could you perhaps engage with someone who actually gives a f***. Unambiguous enough for you?
  3. If you're still struggling you'll find a small clue in the title thread mate.
  4. Wish folk would stop quoting this absolute toilet of a human being, thereby giving him the attention he so obviously craves. Just ignore the ***t.
  5. @i-Ram & @Mucker1884 there's a couple of links posted in the Rugby thread if you fancy reliving the Lions tours of '71 and '74.
  6. A smidge before my time but I've watched both videos any number of times over the years, so for those who do remember JPR, here's a couple of links. The second conveys the sense of man and player rather well I think and while I agree that there were some great players back then, it's a very different game now. Check out our set pieces - blimey! 😂
  7. it's an instant disqualification for me and just another indicator that Ngannou was well top. Desperation as I said. The big lad didn't even flinch though, which is probably why Fury got away with it.
  8. Hard to know where a player's ceiling lies until they are tested though, no? This forum is quite bad for writing off players before they've kicked a ball and if you look through previous years, we're not great a spotting who will prosper and who will not and that's putting it mildly. Writing him off based on the fact that he's 25 seems a tad premature to me as we know players mature at differing rates and irrespective, his best years will very likely be ahead of him. As with any unknown entity and let's be honest, this guy is not known to us, there's no need to be discounting the lad just yet, (or bigging him up for that matter), but with Pompey, Bolton and Derby on the case, the evidence suggests he's doing something right. Likewise, when one considers that there's a strong possibility that the clubs looking at him will not be in L1 next year, does that not imply that said clubs believe he can not only prosper at at this level, but higher too? To be honest, I'm just pleased that we are spreading the net a little wider than has been the case for some time now.
  9. Sometimes I f****** hate sections of our fanbase.
  10. What is it that makes you think his fitness and pace will evaporate in such a short space of time and is there any evidence to date to support your assumption? With some players I'd likely agree with your opinion, but not so much with Nate. The lad's a specimen and he clearly looks after himself. If we were offering a 33 year old NML multiple year contracts, perhaps I'd be worried, but I've no concerns on him last another 24 months or so in the game. He's happy at the club, in the best form of his playing career, fit as a flea and clearly not wanting to leave; two years will do us (and him) just fine, I reckon.
  11. Paula Vennells needs prison time. I'm not sure what the stripping of her CBE achieves, even though I agree it should happen. Sub-postmasters were sent to jail and it should now be her turn. This was a conspiracy and all involved in the cover-up need custodial sentences. That said, I doubt any of the major players will ever see the inside of a courtroom, let alone prison, indeed on stepping down from her role as head of the PO, she was rewarded for her services with a £400,000.00 golden handshake. If that does not absolutely scream contempt, I don't know what does but the one hand washes the other, I'm afraid. Our government, justice system and public services are overrun with corruption and greed and it's high time heads rolled.
  12. Chuffed to bits with this. Thank you Nate and thank you Mr Clowes! Nate has worked so hard for us this season. Very pleased to see his endeavour rewarded.
  13. Ngannou as low as 3/1 from 13/2! Joshua a best priced 1/4 shot. The amount of cash piling on the draw option is interesting too 🤔 One thing I did note from the Fury-Ngannou was that Fury got pretty desperate. This shot was absolutely shocking, though Ngannou acted like he'd just been tickled.
  14. Shame, I thought you'd like it. Not really loosely based though mate. Fentanyl exploded on the US exactly as depicted and now accounts for around 75% of all opioid overdoses. The characters may be made up, but they are merely a vehicle to illustrate how Big Pharma operates and how the system has been corrupted from end-to-end. In that regard, I'd say the film's portrayal is anything but loose, indeed over 20% of all scripts written in the US are now for 'off-label' use. For me it closes the loop; Dopesick showed us the effects on the lives of users and the law enforcement crisis that has resulted from it, whereas Pain Hustlers us shows us the methodology that allowed this tragedy to unfold in the first place.
  15. Think the opposite is true. I think Huddersfield are being used to drive the price up for us and Clowes has not taken the lure. No offer from Huddersfield as yet, after all. Excellent news. We'll not be contravening FFP again anytime soon then. That said, Clowes is no fool and he'll know we have a chance to get over the line this season and I think he'll make sensible money available if PW requests it. FWIW, I do think this lad is coming to Derby, but it's just a hunch more than anything intuitive or factual.
  16. Some funny replies from our lot 😂
  17. Saltburn - a very watchable, dark and cautionary tale where no good deed goes unpunished. Barry Keoghan, whose star seems rapidly in the ascendence, is wonderfully creepy in the lead role as Oliver Quick, ably accompanied by a very talented cast and a young writer director who is also on a sharp upward arc. Disturbing, menacing, voyeuristic and extremely uncomfortable, yet hugely watchable, which I'm guessing is is precisely the balance writer / director Emerald Fennell sought to strike. 8/10 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17351924/ In theatres & streaming on Amazon Prime
  18. Bonkers that Jimmy Collins is ranked #16th best with a rating scarcely higher than the median. The standard deviation figure tells its own story in that regard, I guess. I think I'd probably rate his season thus far as being a smidge off Nyambe, Nelson, Cash and Nate, a small smidge!
  19. Conceding two goals against a massively inferior opponent like that is just embarrassing. I honestly thought Blackpool were better than that.
  20. Bird can play at a higher level and can also be core to our promotion push this season. I don't get the need to push him out the door if we're going to be looking for players of his ilk next season in a league where more technical players prosper.
  21. Do you mean not supporting as in attendance mate? I think that might be a passive thing as a lot of folk are struggling and perhaps it's a bridge to far for some incomes this season. As to the OP's point, I seem to swing from one pole to the other in that the risk of injuries bloomin terrifies me, but it'd be grand to see a sea of black and white at Wembley again and of course the cash on offer is certainly is not to be sniffed at. I would like to see some of the fringe players getting time though and perhaps further blooding of one or two young'uns.
  22. Agreed, but it's the fact that this war HAS received so much attention. Easy for Westerners to forget a war in Yemen when it's seldom on their feeds, but this is being watched in real-time. Also, not a point worth labouring as all wars are grim affairs, but there are already 2 million displaced in Gaza and that after only 90 days of fighting, which far from abating, seems only to be increasingly visceral and disturbing.
