  1. Bird can play at a higher level and can also be core to our promotion push this season. I don't get the need to push him out the door if we're going to be looking for players of his ilk next season in a league where more technical players prosper.
  2. Do you mean not supporting as in attendance mate? I think that might be a passive thing as a lot of folk are struggling and perhaps it's a bridge to far for some incomes this season. As to the OP's point, I seem to swing from one pole to the other in that the risk of injuries bloomin terrifies me, but it'd be grand to see a sea of black and white at Wembley again and of course the cash on offer is certainly is not to be sniffed at. I would like to see some of the fringe players getting time though and perhaps further blooding of one or two young'uns.
  3. Agreed, but it's the fact that this war HAS received so much attention. Easy for Westerners to forget a war in Yemen when it's seldom on their feeds, but this is being watched in real-time. Also, not a point worth labouring as all wars are grim affairs, but there are already 2 million displaced in Gaza and that after only 90 days of fighting, which far from abating, seems only to be increasingly visceral and disturbing.
  4. It's literally horrific and it makes me very sad to see the West continue to look away. What a world we live in.
  5. Hey @Ellafella pop an extra point on Josh's score for me please mate, if not too late? Made a brilliant early save that I thought had gone wide of its own accord at thee time, so 7.5, not 6.5 please.
  6. Agreed, but it's a fight that really worries me from AJ's standpoint. AJ looked born again in his last fight from a technical standpoint, but he'll still have the same chin. Neither Usyk or Fury bang, Ngannou definitely does and he's entitled to improve too, given he's only had the one fight. AJ will hopefully come out and make a mockery of my fears, but to my mind, this has the same vibe as Canelo-Bivol fight to me. Once again, I don't think folk are seeing what they are looking at. Canelo and his camp didn't see that Bivol is a quiet assassin who would beat their guy up badly. I fear that AJ and Hearn just figure Ngannou to be like the ex-MMA fighters who fought Logan Paul, but Ngannou isn't a beat-up MMA vet, punchy and looking for a last payout. He's a feckin apex predator at the top of his game and his game is brutal. So for me, AJ most likely winner, yes, I'll concede that, but I'm on Ngannou at a working man's price.
  7. Hell yeah! @Ellafella is it too late to change my match rating? Sonny's got a big, **** off points deduction coming 😱
  8. We were 14s mid-November. Some folk will be sat on some nice cash out positions.
  9. Anyone else think AJ vs Ngannou isn't the smartest deal Hearn has ever struck? I can't see the sense of pairing AJ with a guy who punches even harder than Wilder and I'm not sure that boxing has yet worked out that Cameroon clubber really feckin bangs. If AJ moves as sweetly as last time out, then he'll win handsomely, but IMO, if he gets tagged, even once, he goes. 13/2 is stupid value I reckon, so I'm on with the Plastics. No way Ngannou tees off at that price anyway.
  10. 31Vickers: 6.5 - Did ok despite a hair-raising attempt at playing sweeper, but while not wishing to be unkind, Joe is still the #1 for me, even after a sloppy game last time out. 35Nelson: 7.0 - Solid enough, though not at his brilliant best in a 3 - might we have tried him at RB in a 442? I don't think not having Nyambe available fully warrants the change in formation, but we've won well enough in the end, so WTF do I know! 5Bradley: 6.5 - Continues to get pelters but I thought he looked better today. He does still look a little nervous and I think if someone could just calm him down a bit, I think there's s till a player in there. I think he'll get a few more games with Ryan away and I think it's now make or break for him. Having him back in form as well as the regular starters would be huge. 6Cashin: 7.5 - Held it all together at the back and is improving leaps and bounds this season - I think playing in a settled unit with Nyambe and Nelson to learn from has improved his consistency significantly. £5.5M, 20% sell on, full season loan back please Brighton. That or you can buy him for £8M +++ when we're promoted, or you could just feck off completely. 2Wilson: 7.5 - I'll get pelters for this but was trying to think whose style he reminds me of and it's Lauren James of Chelsea and England women. Like her he has this knack for just gliding past players and I'm really not sure how he's doing it. I think it's probably some for of football juju as slowmo's reveal nothing. 8Bird: 8.5 Received a deal of criticism for his last performance, not all of which was fair IMO as he and Hourihane were overrun in a 2-man midfield. Banished that memory today in no uncertain terms, making critical interceptions in midfield and turning provider for 2 of our 3 goals. Only Collo ran as hard. MOTM for me. 4Hourihane: - 7.0 When we were good, so was he. Coincidence? I think not. Quietly effective and probably grateful for some extra bodies in midfield this time out. He's improving his consistency which for me has been the bugbear, rather than his ability. 22Fornah: 6.5 - Limited evidence but ran hard hard and did nothing wrong. Not entirely sure why he didn't start against Boro IMO. 3Forsyth: 6.5 - Didn't look comfortable at all and was duly hooked at HT. It seems like he's got a niggle so I'm hoping it's minor and we have him available again v. soon as he's a talisman and we need him. 20Elder: 7.0 - Don't know too much about this lad and obviously seen little of him at Derby as yet. That said, I really like what I have seen. One of the few to play his football against Boro and again looked promising today. Handy if Fozzy is injured I reckon and I can see PW rotating the two players a bit moving forward which will be one less thing for him to worry about. 19John-Jules: 6.5 - A little non-descript today, but it's his first start and he'll be sharper for the extended game time. I've noticed that both Boro and this lot targeted him a bit too and I do wonder whether that's out of respect for his latent ability. I hope so, weird as that might sound. 7Barkhuizen: 7.0 - Driving me nuts as every time I'm about ready to give up on him, up he pops with a goal. I'd like to see him work as hard off the ball as on it though, but I'm being grump really as he could do no more today. 11Méndez-Laing: 8.0 - Man's a real handful and was back to his pacy and bristling best today. He's playing with a smile a mile wide this season and as someone who has had his troubles, it's great to see him looking very much at home at Derby. Contract extension in the offing Mr Clowes? 9Collins: 7.5 - Oh Jimmy, Jimmy. The old bloke with enough fire in his belly to power a small town. Literally runs himself into the ground every game, yet somehow never seems leggy next time out. Another who looks a different player with a proper pre-season under his belt, his goals have been crucial this season. 16Thompson: 7.0 - Love this lad. A proper pocket destroyer and deceptively strong for a wee lad, he's also got loads of ability and precisely the kind of never say die attitude PW loves. It's great to have him back. Warne Watch: Soz gaffer, but just a wee, small moan would be the formation. Not going to bang on as we've won well, but it makes me nervous when we're in game management mode. That aside, another excellent day's work and a big relief to see us bounce back immediately after the loss last time out. Well done to you and the lads!
  11. All getting a bit feisty down in South Gloucs 😋
  12. Did he watch the game on radio too?
  13. Least you've the good humour and spirit to admit it. I thought he was excellent today and is showing Jason Knight levels of energy which is some feat as one of the olds in the side. We need to be adopting the, 'he's here, he's there' he's every f****** where' chant as it's him down to a tee.
  14. Gonna be honest and say his line in chat drove me bonkers to start with, but I think it's just his schtick and perhaps something he does to address his nerves. These days, he just makes me laugh, though I'd likely not be so 'charitable' were we losing every week. That said, I'd actually like to see him enjoy some success at Derby, even if he might not be the long term solution and the fact that he irritates the **** out of his detractors makes me chuckle too. Far from everyone's cup of tea, but certainly not the fool some believe him to be.
  15. Cheers @SKRam mate! Will have a look later.
  16. Cheers Caerphilly, good to know he's keeping his pecker up!
  17. Do you have a link please @SKRam? Or can you summarise...
  18. How are Fleetwood doing so badly. Gave Pompey a scare last week or so back and didn't look a bottom of the table side today? As for us, a disjointed performance where we rode our luck a little at times. Disappointing to see us dropping deep again, but the Fleetwood goal seemed to sting us into action. Nice to see Barks get a goal today, likewise Collo who was an absolute Trojan. One small gripe would be the back 3, which still doesn't look to suit the personnel on hand. Ah well, 3 more points in the bag and the pressure back on those immediately above us. COYR
  19. He's put in a shift alright. Defensively very good today in a physical encounter too. This is what we need from him, he's taken the game by the scruff of the neck and dragged us over the line. More of the same please Max!
  20. Yeah, but, well, what about, errr, hmmm..... Ah, feck it, he's actually not completely awful isn't he!
  21. If you could dose the cat again around the 60 minute mark I'd be obliged.
