86 Hair Islands got a reaction from RammingStone66 in Kamil Jozwiak - mid term assessment
Sorry, but he's absolutely not. In terms of playing style, effort, defensive coverage and willingness to try and beat his man, they are absolutely poles apart, pun intended. Let's not make him the latest in a long line of unwarranted scapegoats please, especially when the reasoning behind such thinking is so completely devoid of substance.
With a season to acclimatise and hopefully a more settled club in general to look forward to, I can see him doing well next year, especially if we can keep his Polish buddy fit. I think folk fail to take into account how hard it can be for foreign players, especially younger ones, to simply up and leave their homeland for somewhere like Derby and even more so when they arrive in the epicentre of a shitstorm they most likely never saw coming. Recruited under Cocu to play one role and then almost immediately finding himself under a new manager in a team rooted in a relegation mire, is not exactly a recipe for a smooth transition, is it? As it stands and even without an progression, the only similarities between him and Zoon are their signing fees. This lad has already shown he can give FBs a torrid time when he's right on it, he just neds to find the confidence to do so consistently.

The next Johnny Russell, and I mean that as a compliment.
At this level, with less media coverage, everyone scouts by Wikipedia. The amount of goals scored and assists made are the only barometer anyone seems to use, and I think Jozwiak's too wasteful to ever trouble those columns in the way a lot of fans expect in order to rate an attacking player.
We really missed Russell when we let him go - his pace, his passing, his excellent defensive work. Would rather have him in the team not scoring than other wingers we have, including one player who only wants to shoot on site or run into a defender.
If you took Jozwiak out of the starting line up, you'd notice a huge difference. We wouldn't have an outlet when under the cosh, we wouldn't have anything like the same protection for the full back on that wing, and we wouldn't draw so many fouls in the other half. He does all of that when he's playing badly.
More technically gifted than Russell though. I bet Mac would have him as the first name on the team sheet if we had him in 13/14.

I’m glad you’ve taken on board the lessons of the pandemic then.
I doubt it will become mandatory, but it is very sensible to think in terms of preventing something like this happening again.
I’m sure when seatbelts first came in, after a couple of weeks, people thought, ‘but I’ve not had an accident, so why am I bothering.’
or when we first started to have to take our shoes off at airports, ‘no ones tried to sneak a bomb in in their shoes for ages, so why do we still do this.’
same thing in this case, there’s not been a pandemic for 20 years, so why are we bothering to wear masks? Why are we having a jab every year?
thise who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Those other things just became the norm, it feels weird not to wear a seat belt now.
Having said that, I don’t think masks will remain mandatory, but I do think more people will choose to wear them, and it won’t look daft, it’ll just be a normal thing.

It's that time if year when there's a bit of a shuffling of the decks across the major academies (of which of course we're one).
We welcome young midfielder Bayo Fapetu who joins from Arsenal: https://arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/2021/02/26/u16s-midfielder-bayo-fapetu-leaves-arsenal-to-join-Derby-county/

Don't know how many play the free to play Skybet Super 6  where you can win £250,000 for correctly predicting the scores of 6 selected games... Well how unlucky must this poor bugger feel?

You'll note that the only one wrong was the Bristol City game where he predicted Swansea 1 Bristol City 2. Now look at the timing of Bristol's third goal...

    Ouch!!!

I can only imagine a Bristol City fan would put a bet on them to beat Swansea at the minute.
In my mind, the day is brightened imagining it might be Mr Papadopoulos, or if not, at least one of his FFP mardy arse cohorts.

86 Hair Islands reacted to Inverurie Ram in Rams v Red Dogs (Notts Forest) Match day Thread.
I heard the Notts Forest fans were out last night with their birds celebrating a point, and getting carried away after listening to the pro Forest Sky Comentators, or when the Sky Commentators choose to just get behind any of the opposing teams we play when on Sky TV, when all of the usual suspects Goodman, Andrews, Prutton etc get all carried away and well behind whoever we are playing always emphasising how well the opposition have played then scrapping the barrell when showing highlights of the opposition, with a couple of missed placed headers by the opposition which Roos caught with no problems, whilst looking to pick up faults straight away with VAR calls in our goal and not really emphasing the fact we had the best chances in the game, Knight, Penalty Claim, Richards & Gregory to win the game comfortably.
Unfortunately some of our fans believe or are brainwashed with what these bumbling idiots come out with on Sky TV, but at least our wonderful manager Wayne Rooney isn't brainwashed by Sky TV and its pundits, and he and I know the game was their for us to win it and we had the better chances to win it.
I think the Sky pundits all watched "How to speak Nottingham by Rik Mayal" on You Tube for their pre match build up yet again and they can all go back to getting carried away with Dirty Leeds again and all the rest.
And Stuart Pearce looked like he was going to burst out of his rather tight jeans and cowboy boots!
Notts Forest fans out celebrating with their birds again............

I'll still wear one in shops for the long term.
Mainly because I like ripping it off my face as I exit shops like George Clooney in ER storming out of surgery having spent the last hour trying and failing to save the life of the woman he loved.
I just wish supermarkets had the doors you could kick open and storm out of. The automatic ones at the Co Op aren't that responsive and sometimes when then they only half open it spoils my moment.
