I remember someone behind me in the East stand berating Jamie Ward's corner delivery once, bellowing
"OI, WARDY! IF I WANT TO SEE FLOATING BALLS, I'LL GO AND SIT IN THE BATH!"

What an overreaction to something very basic. Typical of this day and age though.
So the club have introduced safe standing but need to make it very clear to everybody that it isn't a general admision and doesn't mean you can go stand where you want like we used to on the popside.
It appears to me that in order to get that message across, they introduced more rigerous ticket checks before the very first match after the rails were installed.
And that gets the message across. A 5 second check to make sure you're not going to stand in another block to be with your mates, nothing more and nothing less.
Give it a few matches and they probably won't be as vigerous (if they are, then perhaps it might be time to start moaning)
It seams to me that a tempory slight diruption is a small price to pay for gettting what you've been wanting for a decade or two

The change? Presumably to push Wilson and Ward further up as wing backs.
The tidy up? To make sure the 3 CBs were in their preferred positions.
I don't agree with the change personally (I think we look all over the place when we play 3 at the back), but it seems pretty obvious what Warne was thinking.

My take on the Bradley sub...
Just prior to it, we'd switched to 3 at the back, with (L-R) Forsyth, Nelson and Cashin. That put Cashin on the wrong side, and I'm not sure Nelson is comfortable in the middle of the three. In order to get round pegs/round holes in the defence, he swaps Forsyth for Bradley (who is more happy in the middle of a 3), which also allowed Cashin and Nelson to swap to their preferred sides.
It struck me as a defensive tidy up after a formation change.

I've not read the thread at all but I did watch the match. That result was nothing to do with shape or tactics. It was sheer incompetence from the players. Virtually all were guilty of under hit or over hit passes the whole game and as for game management what a laugh..... Why the hoof up field for the ball to come straight back when white shirts were available? Incompetence by the players, total incompetence.

Warney doesn’t seem to learn though does he? Tactically he is left wanting at times. In my view once fully fit Thommo should play. He fills the void of energy and pace we currently lack in midfield.

Likewise. He got a decent reception from the East Stand when he was warming up at HT. Couple of isolated boos, but most folks were showing him a bit of love. In response he applauded the fans and patted his hand to his heart. Seemed genuinely touched by it.

More of an orange hue from where I was sitting.
Anyone else see Keogh in the aftermath of the penalty? Was simultaneously trying to...
    1. Celebrate with his teammates
    2. Not celebrate with his teammates too much
    3. Move his celebrating teammates away from the Derby fans
    4. Apologise to the Derby fans for his teammates celebrating in front of them by applauding the crowd and giving the "calm down" gesture
Poor fella didn't know what to do with himself 😄

To play three at the back so Ward and Wilson (relative to Forsyth) could push 20 to 30 metres further forward and NML could support Collins. I was happy with that switch at was more attacking and seemed to get us in and around their box more. I would have swapped JJ for Collins at the same time though. JJ seemed to be too deep when he came on.
