Ghost of Clough got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Morgan Whittaker
Ball had strength. I still stand by my opinion that he could have been a very reliable Championship forward. He seemed to lose the hunger for the game when we loaned him out to Coventry.

Well it's reported we're owed money too. So when that comes in, we can likely pay what we owe

So this explains why there's been nobody to man the ticket office. Mel's had all the office staff going through the Facebook accounts of every Middlesbrough player.

He'll soon fall into the Mason Bennett trap of being judged as crap, simply due to only 2 goals in 40 Championship games... despite that being just 915 minutes of football.
He's not fast, he's not strong, so he has always needed a bit of time (a season, sometimes 2) to adjust to the higher level of football.
You don't score 20 goals and grab 12 assists in 20 U18 games unless you have something about you. The fact he got those goals from being a clever, technical player rather than pacey or strong just shows he needs time.
5 goals in 643 minutes in all competitions in his Swansea career so far. It's not going too badly for him.

I know it's a regulation and a breach of them, but, what I didn't know is if that automatically put someone into an embargo.
Upon checking the regs, any club not making their payment on time should be put under an embargo.

Yep, me neither.
Like the sad pedant I am, I've e-mailed the EFL to ask them why they're not enforcing their rules on all teams. I expect it to get a similar response to any e-mail sent to DCFC at the moment ?

Just guessing, but it's possible that under the terms of an embargo all fees are to be paid on time. You can then not come out of the embargo until all late payments are cleared.
However, if other clubs aren't embargoed but are late with payments, they won't be included.
The website doesn't say this, and just lists all reasons for embargo. Based on the limited info, ALL clubs late with payments should be listed. Hopefully (although unlikely) the EFL come out and clarify.

i recall Marshall being free (Wigan wanting to save on the wages) and Byrne was £250k (likely all upfront). I can't see it being either of them

Assuming it doesn't relate to a player who has already left the club, here are only a select few players it can relate to: Bielik, Lawrence and Jozwiak. All other players were free, academy, or stayed with us beyond their original contract (unlikely for installments to stretch outside the length of original contract)

I can see why the verdict was reached. I just don't agree with the conclusion as i can't see the excessive force coming into it when it's a stumble. The panel making the decision must have concluded it was deliberate.
Another case of guilty until proven innocent.

You're telling me "attempting to use excessive force" doesn't mean deliberate?

I think stamping on the general area was accurate enough now you expect him to twist on the end? Expectations of some fans are impossible to meet?

I take it you've never stumbled before. Instinct means you put your un-planted foot to the ground as quickly as possible.
The clue as to whether it's a stamp or not is with the foot coming back up, not going down. With an accidental step the instinct also kicks in and the foot is pulled up a lot quicker than a stamp, where the foot becomes planted.

I still stand by that I think it was clumsy and accidental rather than deliberate and malicious. He's regaining his balance after landing.

You've outlined basically what aggravated me about (and still does) letting Whittaker go. Of all the young players we had he was the one that if you observed how he progressed in the academy and the style of player he was you could see that it was going to take him a little bit of time to get up to speed.
It's clear that he needed time to get physically accustomed to the level he was playing at and to get stronger in general. Thing is that from a modern sport perspective is pretty much the easiest thing to fix. Personally I think it's always preferable for a young player to not be physically ready than to not be technically ready because the latter is significantly harder to change.
I still feel he's going to be one of those players that in a few years everyone will be scratching their heads at why we've let him go.
