    Been waiting a while to paste? Only Sibley's 2nd yellow in the league this season.

    The three subs in this 2nd half will be Barkuizen for Sibley, Osula for McGoldrick, and Dobbin for Collins (sticking woth 532) or Tommo (switching to 523).
    Don't we'll see anyone else come on.

    I'd be amazed if Warne opts for a CB pairing of Rooney and Cashin. Firstly, due to the lack of experience between the pair, and secondly because Forsyth's been doing very well at CB.

    Davies - missed 5 in a row
    Chester - only 1 app
    Smith - returning from injury and still missed 5 games
    McGoldrick - missed the first 3 games and was buikding up his fitness
    Osula and Dobbin - weren't with us at the start of the season

    Oh, you meant Warne?

    Not surprised it was defeated, but risk vs reward sides with Quantuma.
    Win = save £2.25m
    Lose = pay £175k extra

    It's as if we are the only club to have ever signed players with the fee paid over several instalments....

    Now that Qatar have banned alcohol in and around stadiums, the Scottish and Irish decision to boycott the World Cup suddenly makes sense.

    Instead of rainbow armbands, I feel the whole team should be wearing black armbands for the 6,500 workers who've died building the stadia. And during the warmup our players should take their own minute's silence. What a terrible thing that's happened, but it doesn't seem to be the media's focus.
    Playing this World Cup feels somewhat like still going ahead and playing the European Cup Final after Heysel.

    Due to Covid, the standard 3 year period was replaced by a 4 year period. The 19/20 and 20/21 seasons are averaged out. This is the same for all clubs.
    We would have lost about £70m over the past 3 years. The big difference between us and them is we would have made a loss of about £38m in 18/19, whilst they posted a £12m profit.
    Even without taking in to account exclusions (Covid, academy, etc) Bristol City are without allowable losses.
    Covid had to be the only reason for us going in to administration for the 12 point deduction to be overturned. I firmly believe we would have succeeded with the appeal, but would have had to go through a lengthy legal battle.

    You had 19,009 vs Plymouth this season, so I'm assuming that is your current capacity due to "works". No other sell-outs this season, although Bristol Rovers was close.
    The first step is for your club to complete those "works", and see if your average attendance even increases by just 1000 (still 2000 below capacity). You averaged 15003 last season, so it would be a massive risk to expand to have a capacity double what you had last season, just because you sold out one game. The second step is to maintain a high attendance percentage for several seasons.
    It would be the same as us expanding our stadium to 45k, because we sold out against Birmingham last season. Fans of most clubs when doing well think they need to expand. We had the same when we were in the PL and the seasons which followed. 5 seasons since our relegation with 90% attendance (vs actual capacity) with plenty of sell-out games. Our lowest average in the PL at Pride Park is an impressive 28,551. We could easily sell more tickets than our current capacity when doing well, probably hitting 45k now and then. But it would be a struggle reaching 50% attendances when not doing so well. The reality is, this is the right size stadium for us.
    Our lowest ever at Pride Park was still 66% of capacity. You were below that in 12/13, and were even at 40% of capacity in the mid-90s.The only time in the last 60 years which you've consistently hit 19,000 attendees over a season was during your PL years and challenging for Europe. The likelihood of repeating that is very small, as proven by it not being sustainable and you crashing down the leagues.
    Once your refurbishments are complete, your 20-21k capacity is right for you at this moment in time.

    So Stearman played 104 minutes against a national league side but will start on the bench against Portsmouth ?  I know it can sometimes make sense to keep talent in reserve but I don’t get the thinking

    The reason they played so much is because they won't be starting vs Portsmouth.
