Yeah but Warne is doing things differently and I don't like that. I want things to be exactly as I imagine they should be in my own head, and I don't want anything to ever change.

Just to chime in here and say I like the idea of letting the players decide.
In fact, I would go as far as saying it's a great idea.
They are all professional footballers, most will have played in numerous teams under various captains.
They will know individually more than anyone what they want from their captain and vote accordingly.
As a fan, I couldn't care less who gets the armband, it's not going to affect my life in any way other than see them lead the team out the tunnel.
The captain announcement is on par with the squad numbers announcement. Just a formality. 

You seem to have conveniently forgotten to answer the second part of the question 🤔... In answer to it, he never scored 20+ in a season prior to last year doing it at the ripe old age of 34/35. 

Fingers crossed, I've said on another thread that I think Collins looks leaner and fitter this pre season and his goals have confirmed for me he's going to be an improved player this season, especially with how Warne is going to set up.

100%! I must have said this on about 5 threads. We've not had a 20+ goal a season striker for eons and now over-entitled moaners go on and on like we're Man City - they really don't get that we're in L1 on a L1 budget - it's really not that complicated! How quickly they've all forgotten that we were almost closed down and now they're demanding top players. Ridiculous.
And as you say, McG was NOT prolific before last season. PW made him a 20 goal striker. This is factually inarguable - he played for 20 seasons and didn't get 20 goals in any of them prior to playing for other managers.
I'm not going to bite anymore - just pray to god that Wash gets 20+ goals so the spoiled brats stop bloody moaning.

Very true, this time last season, we hadn't signed a 20 goal player. Hopefully, we have now got the players to give the service to the likes of Collins and Washington, to enable them to get 20 goals.

My take from this is I can't wait for the season to start and I also need to block about 50 of our fans on twitter and on here.

Listen again. Listen to the squad he's creating, the ethos and the aim. The players buy into it, want to achieve something here.

But it's easy shouting out players names who WE think we should sign, but this is real life, any moron can sit at his/her pc and roll of names who we should sign but we don't have to do the deals. Also 250k in this league and given our position IS a lot of money. If we had a decent amount to spend don't you think we'd have been in for May?. Was we ever in for him?, he'd already signed before we sold Knight didn't he?.

Sheffield Wednesday had the oldest squad in the league last season and spent most of it in the top two and eventually achieved promotion with a couple of forwards who didn’t exactly score + 15 goals each 

Took him 15 seconds to show some real quality yesterday as he danced through their defence in the box. Took less than minutes to also show the endeavour and hard work that Warne will rate winning the ball back in his own half. 
 
He is very technically gifted, more so than the others in our attacking positions despite what some clowns will tell you about his first touch. He’d be excellent as a supporting player in this squad. 
 
 
and I’ll be honest, I was on the side of ‘don’t go back’. He took less than 5 minutes to change my mind. He looked the sharpest player in our attack when he came on and combined really nicely with Washington. 

It's pretty obvious Warne couldn't attract a moth to a light. We're the biggest team in this League but have been reduced to scrabbling about in the dirt for castoffs. Pathetic state of affairs 

He'd probably be putting the crosses in. I'm just amazed that after his two short cameos at this level he easily looks as good as Collins. He's smarter, faster and more skilful (ffs what?!), can't see we've anything to lose from giving him a 1 year deal.

We're still under a business plan, so if it takes signing Waghorn to not end up where we were last January after Osula returned, then Waggy it is. I also think this is his level currently.

Yes Ilson! Perspective is key to all this. Is Waghorn the best striker we’ll ever have? No.
Is Waghorn a capable squad addition to a league one side needing depth in their forward line? Yes.

its not about who is better though it’s about how good they are compared to the level.

Would love to see waggs back on a years contract, would do well in this league imo and get us 10+ goals.

I don't like the 'entitled' argument....
But a year out of nearly going bust...
We have strengthened the whole team except the strike-force.
Yet we still have James Collins, Connor Washington...plus Sibley, NML..
And have 2 more signings potentially to come - so Waghorn, Rhodes   ... they may not be exactly what we dreamed of but let's at least have some perspective.
