  1. It isn't a truism really. At least not in its banality. It's what it is used for that is revealing. Where this meme (and similar ones with the same quote) are used - and they crop up quite regularly - it is usually by far right types referring to Jewish business and Jewish media controlling the world. The use of Voltaire's name is to give the conspiracy theory the legitamacy of a proper writer that people have heard of but might not be familar with.
  2. And yet you quote a neo-nazi in support of your argument. It wasn't Voltaire who said that... https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-voltaire-quote-idUSL1N2UE2LM
  3. If anybody deserved the humiliation of that own goal it was Pat van den Hauwe
  4. On a lighter note, I recall that the ref gave them a penalty, then took the players off and by the time they were back on, he'd decided it was a goal kick after all. That must have cheered them up no end. Even more than watching their team wilt under pressure and make a complete pig's ear of everything.
  5. 1994. Millwall. That playoff game. Note the substitutes - Derby's black players taken off for their own safety.
  6. 2 absolutely wretched performances in 3 games
  7. I don't go to Derby often but each time I do, I think it's a craphole
  8. Israel didn't start that war
  9. It is too complex for sides. The nuances are too numerous, the rights and wrongs too diffuse.
  10. The risk would mainly be to Carsley's reputation. It would certainly be a step down for him - from pivotal role in the England setup to manager of a 3rd division side who don't have a reputation for stability
  11. Or the slaughter of civilians at a music festival in the name of their god?
  12. I think the last one on row 4 is Bruce Rioch
  13. Yes, it is. Warne remains an unsophisticated footballing throwback who's too expensive to sack.
  14. I think you've missed the point. There is plenty of discussion of this very topic in threads elsewhere on the forum. Nobody is ignoring it. It fact, it would be impossible to do so.
  15. Looked like it might get a bit tasty there for a minute but it's calmed down
  16. It was the clubs (ie the members of the Premier League who voted against it)
  17. This. How much 50-over cricket has any of them played in the last couple of years? How much 50-over cricket have Brook and Livingstone ever played?
  18. I'm surprised he's still here
