Bayer Leverkusen fans this week after winning the Bundesliga.

I sometimes think we've lost our spirit of football fun in this country.

I won't be on the pitch at Cambridge or Pride Park whatever the results, due to old age, but I will applaud those who want to celebrate.

As for injured footballers, they know the score and the tradition, run like hell for the tunnel!

Must admit @angieram, that took be by complete surprise... particularly the entire last line.

Drinking to excess and snorting coke is apparently becoming a tradition at away matches for some, and also apparently leads to all sorts of boisterous behavior that some would quite likely describe as "Football fun".  I have to admit, this is based on what I've read, not witnessed.

It's been "a tradition" for eons, for Forest fans to lob liquid waste and/or coinage of the realm from the upper tier to the away fans below.  Knowing this tradition, should the latter just stay away, or at the very least, stay back under the upper tier, where they are somewhat sheltered?

The fact remains, DCFC, football clubs in general, and the laws of this country dictate that pitch invasions by fans should not be tolerated, let alone be seen as football fun and consequently applauded.

So much so, DCFC have aired this, ahead of these final two matches...

Pitch incursions are dangerous and anyone who does encroach onto the playing surface will face strong sanctions that could include a ban from attending matches at Pride Park Stadium and across the country and police action.

It is a criminal offence to enter the pitch and the real-life consequences for these actions have been felt by many, with some fans receiving criminal records which can impact employment, education prospects and international travel.

It is not only yourself that can be disciplined. There could also be an impact on your family members and Derby County itself.

The club wishes to urge supporters to keep the pitch for players and the stands for spectators and avoid any unnecessary disruption at such a crucial point of the season.

As an aside, I'd be interested to hear what the likes of our very own Martin Taylor would have to say on that last line.  And many more players besides, of course.

    EDIT:
Apologies, this was written/posted before seeing your latest response in this thread, which admittedly was considerably less surprising to me.  🍻

Will a win tomorrow prompt a pitch invasion at the end or are we saving that for the Carlisle game. The scenes at Portsmouth and Mansfield in midweek were brilliant and show what football means to fans.

At the risk of coming across as a party pooper...

Away fans invading the pitch at Cambridge, particularly "in numbers", will almost certainly lead to sanctions against DCFC.  It will most likely lead to fisticuffs on the pitch between rival fans, and... this is my favourite bit... potentially lead to individuals and/or groups being left with a criminal record and/or some form of ban on attending future matches.

Home fans invading the pitch after the Carlisle game would likely follow the above, plus piss off those who, due to being a little more considerate and polite, choose to remain in the stands to applaud our heroes, and will likely... as has happened in the past... lead to the abandonment of any planned "Lap of Honour" by the players/staff, which of course, should happen for the enjoyment of us all.

There... I'm officially a party pooper... now stay off the fuckin' pitch, nob 'eads!  🍻 🐏

Think it was Deeney who recently said Hughes wasn't that much of a fan of playing and intended to knock it on the head before now.  He was surprised he was still going.  Hard to leave behind over a million a year I suppose.

Not sure it would be that difficult, once you have a couple in the bank?

    We're all different though, I guess.  🍻

We’ve had nothing through the post about renewing ours yet !

Do you know what... I don't recall getting the letter this year.  I could be wrong though.  🤷‍♂️

I got my personal/specific renewal e-mail on Monday 26th Feb
(After I'd already renewed, thanks to posts/reminders on here, I renewed online on day one, which is unusual for me.)

    Check your emails/spam.  👍

I'm not trying to be a smartarse, it just appears (from the shot looking towards the South East corner), that there's hardly any Blackpool fans.

    Got yer.  👍

I can never work out why they they shove them to the left/East when numbers are low, leaving one massive gap towards the south stand.

If they're not going to hand those seats over for home fans, and they insist on so many empty seats for segregation, at least shove the away fans centrally and symmetrically in the corner.  It plays havoc with my OCD!  🤣

Maybe they trust the east standers more than the south standers to behave themselves, hence the bigger gap to the south stand (when numbers are low)?  🤷‍♂️

    PS:
No accusations of being a smart-arse were intended, in my previous post(s).  🍻

  6. Those old tear out tickets generally ran in numerical order, but every now and then they'd throw in a curve ball and change the sequence.
I always assumed it was to ensure you'd got the whole book with you, and not just purchased/borrowed/stolen the single voucher, thus more likely to be the genuine STH.  (How many of us would hand over a full book, even to someone we knew!).

... I once bought a single ticket (from a ST book) at Maine Rd.  He ("The spiv") tore out the right numbered voucher, and graciously hovered about until I was in, but I was very nervous that I'd been ripped off!

... As an aside... I was sat front and centre behind the goal.  I kept looking behind wondering where all the noise was coming from.  It was mid-second half before I spotted the speakers, and the noise was being piped in from the Kippax Terrace to the side.  Surround-Sound football chants!  Cool!  😁

    * Didn't help them though... we won 1-2!  🐏

  7. How about those clubs that don't fancy the inconvenience of potential replays being given:

A/  The opportunity to offer their opponent a bye at any given round, and thus foregoing their own opportunity to progress.

    or

B/  The opportunity to c*** a snook at the competition as a whole, and not entering (for the upcoming season) in the first place.

    Feckham for the cup!  🏆

Sombreros...I turned up in mine last time to find that only about 6 people in the whole place had also bothered, so stuff that for a game of soldiers.

    Jeez!

How many times can one man apologise! 🙄

... and there were 11, actually!  So there!  👀

Like Bob, I moved to the US (for 23 years). Now I am back in the UK, but ill health and distance mean that I have to pick and choose the games I can attend. The last game I saw was vs Port Vale; I have my ticket for the Carlisle game! Btw, the first game I saw was in the old 3rd Division North, at the Baseball Ground, against Grimsby - we lost, 3-1 (they went up as Champions). We won the Division the next season!

If you're the NER that I think you are, I'm sorry to hear of the ill health buddy.

Oh... and a great big 🍻 to you!
