I would be quite staggered if Cocu might think he knows better than you. Show him your badges Rammieib.

Sir Cocu's calm and precise analysis of the Stoke match surely shows a master at work.
He's unhappy at four points lost, despite a far from ideal and rather short pre-season. This shows the high winning standard he has set for the squad. No talk of the last 12 games being the key to promotion - every game is the key to promotion from August onwards.
He explains how he saw the first half today and why he made what some saw as baffling changes. He then describes succintly the resulting improvement whilst calmly listing the failings which need to be eliminated.
He doesn't talk about Plans A or B, he analyses what's happening in the match and changes formations, tactics and players as soon as the need is evident.
Our captain who's had more than his fair share of club and international managers, says training is an eye-opener. Gradually, we can see why.
Sir Cocu is taking our club to a higher level than I can recall in many decades. No banal generalities, no superficial banter with the interviewer. The players ere expected to work hard mentally as well as physically.
It seems to me that Frank relied on a team formula of hard work, energy, and pressing whilst he motivated the players with his personality, humour and winning determination. Frustratingy it didn't always work, especially away to inferior teams. In contrast, our new management is more cerebral and concentrates on developing each player's technical and positioning and adaptability skills, as well as the team performance. So those players of any age who want to improve themselves and be stretched will relish the fabulous opportunity. Those that don't or can't will fall by the wayside, if the steely glint in the manager's eye is anything to go by.
Of course there will be setbacks and disappointments. But there's some real building work going on here and it's a privilege to see it unfold.
Thanks DCFC for the astute and synergistic investment in facilities and management.

I'm not ruling him not good enough but I don't think Dowell is going to patch up much of the hole left by Mount or Wilson.
He's not looking very good so far

Darren Wassall and his team deserve a pay rise. They're obviously a key component of our club and it's future so I hope we pay them top dollar so they aren't prised away.

He's one of the most aggressive players you'll see isn't he.
Where some hard players will love a good 50:50 and some players would leave a foot in... he goes full on when the odds are stacked against him!!
I laughed but he will end up injuring people with his tackling and it does him and us no good when he goes flying into stuff he can't win.
Excited about him. But I can see why he's not getting a start.

Well done tonight lads. Great experience for the younger players and sounds like Knight especially will be involved with the first team this year.  I listened to most of it on Radio Derby and to be fair to them, what I heard was pretty positive.

To be honest the cup runs are more for the fans than finances.
Strangely when we field a completely different team I always wonder if it actually tells us anything. It’s always hard for players to come in and make an impact in a team that isn’t regular I always think just stick with the strongest team rotating a couple maybe. When teams rest players it never seems to give them a massive edge the next game on the back of it. I also think if you Waghorn right now then playing a lesser team on paper and grabbing a couple could give you the lift you need.

The Orange Pimpernel reacted to Inverurie Ram in Frank Lampard’s Chelsea FC
I watched the game in Commercial Inn, Inverurie and I bought myself a pint of perroni, sat down next to a bloke with a real parrot on his shoulder!.....I had a look at my pint and it was definitely my first pint of the day......and nobody batted an eyelid to this parrot, big red and green one, looked like he was Man Utd, no blue on him, I think blue is more budgeeregar, anyway there's no joke, no gag coming, this was for real, so I looked up at the big screen and enjoyed the first half, Man Utd leading 1-0.
The bloke and parrot left the pub at half time and the parrot said goodbye on the way out, and the half dozen or so folk sat on the bar stools around the bar turned around on a Sunday afternoon and wished them both a goodbye. I looked at my pint again, did a head shake and carried on as per normal and enjoyed the second half.
Sometimes I wonder why I live in Scotland, I think it's for the entertainment, anyway you couldn't make it up, as for the football, I don't like the Manx, don't like the Spivs, but I'm looking forward to seeing that parrot again!
And if I had one of them modern phones with a camera, I'd have taken a picture, one day I might catch up with the modern world!
    Up The Rams.

Just in defence of Malone a little bit, he was positioned on the half way line right from the kick-off. That to me indicates that this was tactical and he was told to play further forward.
He has an awkward style which doesn't endear him to the fans and his passing was a bit off on Saturday, but Swansea were harrying all our players very well.
I do think full backs in general get a hard time from our home crowd. They have a complex job covering both attack and defence and our left back in particular has a mercurial partner assisting with this. Lawrence, after covering every blade of grass at both ends of the pitch on Monday, looked a bit out of sorts on Saturday. Despite this, Malone never stopped trying and I admire this in him.
He's not my favourite player but he's a grafter and his track record since he arrived speaks volumes.
It's a tough crowd to please at Derby. Let's get behind him rather than slagging him off at matches.

I think they make us sound worse too, not the same as when you’re actually there. When the opposition get near the goal they ramp up the excitement, up the volume and the listeners usually expect the ball to go in the net. If you’re sat there watching you don’t feel that way. I only listed when I’ve no other choice.

Am I reading this right? We don't have a player that will score is enough goals?
That's it then. Waghorn and Marriott for sale and let's start looking forward to next August.
I mean 2 games in (we have lost neither and only 2 teams out of 24 have 6 points) but it's not looking good is it. We've got players that simply aren't good enough and won't score goals and.... come on, let the picture form before you decide whether you like the look of it.

Same here. I have to work some Saturdays and Radio Derby would be ideal but Dawes and Ramage (especially Ramage) are a complete drain.
I've said it loads of times on here. I used to watch The Full 90 back after going to the games and they are so far off the mark. They don't even give a fair balance to the feeling of the game at the time you were there.
I've heard them described as passionate and realistic on rare occasions and I challenge anyone to listen to them and watch the game. What you hear and what you see will be nothing alike.
Passionate? Passionate is not moaning every two fecking minutes to show how much you care. You can care and yet still not act like those two clowns.
I can put up with some crap commentary too. But those two? No way. Never again.

I am 200 miles away and would love to listen live but I just cant. Its either moan moan moan or else they make it sound like the opposition are just about to score every time they attack.. I just refresh latest scores and only tune in if we are winning. If we are losing or drawing Radio Derby are dreadful.

Just picking up the last couple of minutes of commentary and, while it has been a frustrating game, I have seen so much worse.  When considering it is a new manager’s second game, against a team who came to spoil then I think you shrug your shoulders and move on. Still some positives in there.
However, listening to RD you’d think it had been one of the worst performances ever. Completely different game to what I have seen.  They are shocking.

The Orange Pimpernel reacted to Carl Sagan in Jamie Paterson - Signed on season long loan
Always rated Paterson highly in terms of talent. What you hear about him is that he doesn't do what he should on the training pitch and is a bit of a knob. If the latter points weren't the case, we wouldn't have been able to get him. But I think Lampard introduced a serious intensity into training last season that Cocu will maintain, and if Paterson can't hack it he won't get near the team and he'll have a very boring season. If he ups his game we'll have a very strong extra option.
Surprisingly strong in the air and also good with both feet. Sent from one promotion-chasing team to another, he has a point to prove. He's got a lot of competition but if his head's right then I'd rather have him on our team sheet than the opposition's.
