Let’s stop arguing. We’re all Derby aren’t we?

If Wayne wants to strengthen the squad and not have to sell players, we would have to be under new ownership so we wouldn’t be in admin. If that’s the case a deal would have been struck with all the creditors for us to pay them somewhere from 25p in the pound, including HMRC so it would have nothing to do with them anymore.

Just over 7000 home tickets remaining, so around 3000 sold in the last 24 hours.

    Exactly my thoughts .
Fans are still expecting a promo push either in league 1 or championship . I would think in league 1 we can possibly just . But in the championship to be a level based club living within their means there isnt a chance of a promotion push unless where incredibly good in buying in low value excellent players .
What this has brought home to me is just how unfair the championship is i guess ive always known it but its taken Derby poss going under to properly understand it and for it to sink home . I do have a little bit of sympathy for Mel chasing the dream he has had to . But not at the expense of how he has now pulled out and left Derby possibly going bust .Even though i secretly think he knows a buyer is there for certain and thats why its been done .

I just listened his presser and I have to say I felt very emotional through it,  I am not at all sentimental but this bought a lump to my throat, I doubt there is another manager in all 4 leagues that I would rather have than Wayne at the moment, any criticism of him now would be tantamount to treason.

Odd that Gibson isn't sueing Villa, who came roaring past both us and Boro from the bottom half of the table after overspending massively in that particular season, and who also sold their stadium to their owners.
Someone might think it's not really justice he's interested in.

So not Rooney himself, just his PR team?
Come on fella, give the bloke a break. He's acted with tremendous dignity throughout all this while giving his all to keep the players motivated.

Glad he was honest, but also dismayed that it just puts us back in the national news yet again. Gives the media their little soundbites to smear the club's name with.
Firmly in Camp Rooney, but let's avoid a public bickering between Mel and Wayne.
Suspect what he said is for the benefit of the players, club staff and fans because that's who he's trying to stick up for.
But like I said, we don't need it. Rooney says one thing, Mel denies it. We'll never know the truth, let's move on.

    This isn’t constructive…it’s muck-raking, emotive & “kangaroo-court”-like. Let’s expunge Mel Morris and move forward.

Admin points deduction can be appealed if shown to be force majeure and out of their control. I think this explains Mel repeatedly blaming COVID and saying we would have been able to trade through but for the pandemic. I note that the administrators statement yesterday made the same argument in the very first paragraph.

I thought it was interesting that they said that because of administration even the preferential creditors (HMRC) will have to take a hit on what they are owed. Said Wigan was 25% etc. If MM still in charge this couldn't be done. Inference I guess that this needed to happen to get the sale.

I know that Mel is hardly the most popular character around here at present and I'm not attempting to defend him, just asking a question of those on here with more financial expertise than me.
There is a rumour that Mel has paid off MSD and taken full control back of PPS and MF. If (huge if) that's true, is it possible that he's actually acting in the best interests if the club?
He's put the club into administration, but effectively stripped out its assets. Players can't be sold until January, so they don't offer immediate liquidity. So the unsecured creditors have very little leverage. This means they will have to accept the minimum (I think) 25p in the pound for a CVA, allowing the debts to be slashed for a new owner.
In this scenario, Mel could then sell PPS and MF to the new owners for the cost of the MSD loan.
    Does that seem credible/ possible?

Administrators have just said that an extra 5000 tickets sold will make a massive difference to keeping the short term cash flow running, priority is to pay off HMRC who will hopefully do as they did for Wigan and Bolton and accept 25p or 30p in the pound, they are getting finance together to pay that off, making us very attractive to purchase !! so come on lets do our bit for our club !!! winning this is far bigger than winning at Wembley so dust off your shirts and get buying tickets all those that clammered for a ticket to London and the streets that were paved with gold !!!!
this is no fairytale its real so get behind our club !! COYR !!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's absolutely fine in my book. I have said right from the first moment that Tom Glick started campaigning for FFP to be introduced into the Championship that it was a disastrous policy. Anything that is done to show how ridiculous it is and hasten its abandonment is fine by me.
There are about 30 clubs straining to get into the Premier League. There is a huge incentive for them to spend excessively to do so, even more so with the distortion of parachute payments. So what do we do - we have a system which prevents owners from funding this spending openly. We discourage wealthy, straight forward owners. That leaves the way open for chancers and charlatans with their schemes and plots, to gamble with the future of our clubs.

I don’t know what I did wrong in a previous life but my football team was decided before I was born.
Growing up in Cornwall, there was no local team. The nearest professional side, Plymouth Argyle, were nearly two hours away. All of my friends supported Manchester United, or Liverpool, or Arsenal. That’s the route I’d have taken too if my dad didn’t have different ideas.
From around the age of six, I was being literally dragged out of bed at 05:30 on a Saturday, put in a car and driven to Derby. One stop at Cullompton Services for McDonald’s breakfast, few hours in Derby, watch the game and run to the car to beat the traffic after the game. Get back home at around 11pm if we were lucky.
I’ve watched some poo football, and had the piss taken out of me endlessly for my choice of team. If people don’t take the piss, then they just treat me with confusion and/or amazement.
Yet I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’d still travel every mile again. And as an adult I still continue to travel to watch them play. I’ve been to some weird places, loved it all.
So whatever happens, nothing for me has changed. I will still love this club, and if the very worst happens and a Phoenix club is born instead, then I guess people will be even more confused as to why I support a football team at the bottom of the football pyramid 350 miles away.
