  1. For all the stick Ward has rightly got for giving away consecutive penalties, he should start on the wing if NML’s out That way he can focus on what he’s good at; putting crosses into their box and staying as far away from our box as possible
  2. Most of the teams in this league are s**** and I think we look just as bad as the rest a lot of the time But we’re starting to have games now where we’re able to put it together for 15/20 mins at a time which seems to be enough to win games Despite the amount of people on here who spiralled into crisis mode at 1-1, just look at the table tonight - Joint second most goals scored in the league - Second tightest defence in the league - One point off the automatics and into third (for the time being) We’ve got a lot of room to improve but, if we do improve, we can actually get automatically promoted this season if we have an alright January Why not us? The rest of them are crap as well
  3. Say what you want about Hourihane at 32 years old but no one else at the club can do that when the ball drops to them at the edge of the box Still has the best ability to pick a through ball out of anyone as well Flawed player but has genuine moments of quality that win us points
  4. Just noticed something, we have the same amount of goals scored (34) and goals conceded (16) as top of the league Portsmouth We are nine points below them. That’s some classic Derby County stuff. Playing the right notes just not necessarily in the right order…
  5. James Collins is such a baffling player Works his socks off, battles, does all the canny tricks you expect of an experienced pro, harries defenders, makes them make mistakes like the Leyton Orient player just has and can finish Will then miss a complete f****** sitter and make you wonder why he’s a professional footballer Will then score a hatty in the No Pot To Piss In Trophy a week later and look like he’s Lewandowski I’ve had enough, my brain is fried. Get John-Jules on to spare me.
  6. God that was appalling, was thinking about that the other day He was fantastic when he came in at the end of that season and rightly won the shirt but was never going to find that form again because the fans literally would not let him
  7. Do you not think spending 30 odd million plus and not making any money back might have had something to do with going into administration 😂
  8. JJ’s the real McGoldrick replacement and I think that was taken into consideration enough in the ‘Warne Out’ discussions Will say in defence of Warne that I don’t think anyone at the start of the season ever said ‘oh yeah, Washington, Collins and Waghorn, that’s a bunch of strikers that will definitely get you promoted’ Everyone wanted another striker and Waghorn was a bit of an afterthought anyway as the market was so difficult. Our early season struggles were for lots of reasons but I do think that the loss of McGoldrick and the absence of John-Jules stuck out. We got JJ late in the window, a really talented striker, who is one of the best in the league from his performances with Ipswich last year, and I think the only reason he’s back on loan in League One rather than the Championship is because of his injury history He then predictably got injured (Warne has signed an injury prone striker and can be rightly criticised for taking that risk) but now he’s back, he is the potential game changer. Best part of it is that his contract is out at the end of the season. He’s had a terrible time of it, he’s now at a big club (for his level) and scoring in front of a packed out away end. Warne said when he first signed that he wants JJ here long term, if the stars align and he fulfils his potential with us then I believe we’ve got ourselves a talented young number nine for basically nothing - if that best case scenario happens, Warne and the recruitment team have played a blinder I don’t think the sun shines out of Warne’s arse but the attitude of some fans stunk around the time the away end was berating the team. The way we’ve lost the unity we developed in the points deduction season has been extremely disheartening, it’s not lost on me that Warne’s side underwhelming is part of that and that season was lightning in a bottle but I thought we were better than that What I’m trying to say is a bit of patience with a manager who’s got promoted out of this league multiple times might pay off, rather than calling for his head about ten games into a new season, you absolute hobnobs
  9. Best defensive record in the league and third best goal difference You can see the path to us getting promoted this year appearing now, might have taken a bit of patience but it’s there We just need to figure out how to get more effective going forward and we can potentially reel in the top two over the course of the next few months Starts with Waghorn and John-Jules staying fit in my opinion, not going anywhere with Collins starting most games but he does seem to be the one who’s always available! Still dreading Cashin and Bird sagas in January but onwards and upwards
  10. Fantastic response from Fornah Can we now find a way to sub Sonny Bradley on again to send a message to Bristol that we really aren’t going to concede an equaliser this time?
  11. Sorry if you think I was being sarcastic, I quite enjoyed it
  12. Nice of Rams TV to offer ‘Chris Martin Cam’ today where you can just watch him jog around for 90 minutes rather than endure the tedium of the rest of the game
  13. Lovely tribute Also had a giggle, just remembered when B4 went off on a tandem after a match about Mason Bennett’s legs Oh what legs that Mason Bennett has He’ll be dearly missed
  14. 100% agree If Bolton had just been smart enough to sign Mason Mount when he scored a hat-trick for us against them back in 2019, I guarantee you they wouldn’t be in League One
  15. Two successful trips to Wembley… Did you become a Derby County fan yesterday or something?
  16. To me, that looks like a team that were feeling all billy big b******* after beating Barnsley comfortably Crewe at home on a Tuesday probably looked like a doddle to them and I do wonder if some of the current squad think they’re above our current fixture list. The amount of no shows against teams we should be beating can’t all be down to Warne. We have a lot of players who’ve played at the level above, are they hungry enough? Think Warne is to blame for not rotating, we’re not winning the cup but you need to give youngsters opportunities to play. Now it’s just the ‘no pot to piss in cup’ left for the youngsters to get game time in because Warne admittedly seems married to his senior pros, which may be part of the larger problem How he’s not given Weston and at least one of the other youngsters a start is beyond me However, I think there is a massive focus on Warne which is letting the players get away with murder. As a group they need to come together and stop this happening so regularly, we really need a run of results here. Five more games before Christmas, all against teams lower than us in the table. Can this manager and team get themselves up for these? You’d like to see us get 10 points from those as a minimum, it’s the time of year you start studying the table and the aim should be to get within touching distance of that top three of Bolton, Oxford and Pompey. Getting clear of Barnsley, Stevenage and Pboro goes without saying, we need to be buried in that top six ASAP Dreading the January instability, Cashin and Bird leaving could be disastrous if we’re not careful
  17. Don’t know about you mate but 0% of me has any resentment towards Villa, Hull or Fulham QPR one is slightly different but just can’t see how Maguire would be holding a grudge against that bloody wonderful Derby side that deservedly beat Brighton, particularly when you consider who Brighton are as a club now You just have to face up to the fact that we are a fascinating shambles that will always get Maguire clicks. We’re the horror story the EFL tell around the campfire to scare the football execs before sending them off to bed I think you can tell that he knew that was probably b******* but here we are talking about his podcast!
  18. Had a cry when I find out and had another cry now reading all the posts What a bloke - can’t count the amount of times he’s made me smile on here, it can be a bloody tough forum to read at times when you consider the club we follow but he was just the best Not only hilarious but completely spot on - the team would do better if we got behind the lads like he did I still remember laughing my head off as a younger Leicester Ram at the yellow belt saga, in another life I’m sure B4 will be running the resurgent DLF Haven’t been to a game since my uncle died but would have made the trek from London come rain, shine or national rail strike for the Bristol Rovers game for Daniel Unfortunately I’m in Vietnam and can’t make it back, have to admit I’m devastated because he deserves the best send off possible - remember back in the days of the DCFC Fans podcast that I said he was my favourite forum member and he always will be If anyone is sorting out a flag for him etc but finding the cost a bit dear, please let me know as I’d love to help out You Rams 🐏
  19. Harsh to single a player out like this but my first order of business would be firing Collins into the f****** sun. Dajaune Brown may well be an insurance salesman in five years time but I’d rather see him get minutes than Collins. Would love Bird to stay and sign up long term - if not, I think we’ll have a tricky time finding the right balance in midfield but we at least have a lot of options. There is apparently a human being called Elliott Embleton at the club? Could he feature eventually? I’m resigned to Cashin going, I’d personally be happy if there was a decent bid for Sibley too Ideal situation is John-Jules comes back to fitness sharpish, is the striker we’re missing and extends until the end of the season. On paper, he’s exactly what we need, young, talented and going to be available for free in the summer In reality, I think we’ll need to go all out for a goalscorer. Goals are what’s missing and I’d say an Ince type, a goal scoring winger that Waghorn/Washington can facilitate, could solve the issue equally well as a number nine Looking at it, there’s a lot more that needs doing than you’d like in January but it suits us in a way - we’ll be 18 months into life in League One and (potentially) over 12 months into life with Warne but the squad still doesn’t make sense, it needs another shuffle
  20. James Collins is always near a loose ball in the box, the same way that my dog is always near a squirrel that just ran up the tree in the park
  21. Don’t think Clowes was ever sacking him this week, would be too much of a Mel Morris move. He’s done the right thing by standing up to the Warne Out mob - even if that is now the majority of the fanbase, it still would have sent the wrong message if he’d buckled to fan pressure. Clowes is the one that saved the club, knows 95% more about what’s going on at the club than we do and knows what the financial implication of turfing out Warne would be It sounds like he’s giving him an unspecified amount of time to turn it around and treating Warne how we’d all want to be treated if we were in his shoes. Like Warne or not, this is the right way of doing things. You don’t discard managers after fan backlash - as much as we should be doing so much better than we are. As far as the football goes, Warne needs to win both of the fixtures this week if he’s ever going to win the lions share of the fans back. As much as I’ve preached patience, I expected we would improve after the international break and a managers job will always be in trouble at DCFC if we’re outside the top six of League One by December Warne in or Warne out, creating an inhospitable environment for a manager who has just been backed by Clowes would be very disappointing and I hope PP stays positive tonight.
