  1. Aye, O’Neill did nish, as did most of their other players in fairness
  2. For all the other fans dotted around Europe watching from Rams TV How insightful has Buck been on co-comms? Clearly knows what’s going on behind the scenes and on the pitch with this side Great performance first half, clearly want it more than them and are practically bullying them. Winning so many 50/50’s and putting in some great, high effort tackles
  3. Watch out for O’Neill, the LW for Leyton Orient today. Saw him play for them against Northampton earlier this season and he ran the show, goal and an assist. Good at beating the first man and following up with a smart decision, very tidy on the ball and good delivery. Still only young, worth a look in the summer regardless of division
  4. Of course I do but it still looks absolutely rubbish Unfortunately, we had one of our most successful periods playing dress up as Bolton
  5. Not sure if you’ve noticed but that’s a Spurs kit mate
  6. Umbro era has been strong, the black socks year in particular gave a section of the more tasteful Derby fans something we’d been crying out for I still think Adidas would be the best outfit to get in bed with right now but Puma isn’t a bad runner up seeing as there’s history Black socks history 👀
  7. Wouldn’t want you to be upset when we’re losing to Carlisle at half-time on the last day is all mate, good to hear you know what’s coming
  8. Honest take on tonight is that this is Pompey’s big moment on Sky, on the verge of a return to the second division after years of chaos and about to win the league I unfortunately think we’re about get “cup finalled”
  9. I think that the best way to adapt to the injury crisis is to go back to the 4-3-3 so I’m personally not going to miss Bradley. He’s had a couple good games and won a few headers from set-pieces, unfortunately that’s been about it. Cashin and Nelson on the other hand are complete rocks. If you stuck Elder at LB and let Kane Wilson bomb on from RB, I don’t think we’d honestly be any less solid than with three at the back. We’ve basically seen that work. You can also get more players in the final third which seems to be the only way to address the absence of Gayle/Collins. Could be a blessing in disguise and rescue our automatic hopes but that’s probably the optimist in me. From experience of following this club for coming up three decades, it’s far more likely that we are absolutely f*****.
  10. Had to turn the game off early but glad he kept the experience of Hourihane and Bradley on today, cool heads under pressure are what get you results at the business end of the season.
  11. Joke of a non-call from the ref, clear foul
  12. Gayle has had the best career of anyone in our squad and you can see why, the players at this level are a few seconds behind him. Look at the amount of time he had on the ball for that goal on Tuesday night. Obviously it's a great touch but, compared to the standard he's consistently played at for the majority of his career, he had so much time to take a beat and slot the ball away. Collins, for all his qualities, simply doesn't have that in him. He'd likely have either miscontrolled or snatched at that ball, I grew to love him but over the course of a season I reckon he needs twice as many chances as Gayle does. That's the difference for us now, all season long we've lacked a striker with the composure and technique that Gayle has.
  13. Very succinctly written, Kernow We all have February slump PTSD so I do sympathise with those that are panicking There’s a good chance I’ll also be sharpening my pitchfork at the end of the season if we don’t go up but for now, I’m not blinded by the “lack of entertainment” when this always has been a results business How so many posters are convincing themselves that promotion almost isn’t worth it if Warne’s in charge shows how far from reality you can get when you dislike a manager. I remember thinking the same when Rowett was in charge but if we’d been promoted with him then we wouldn’t be here now - I couldn’t have been more wrong I’ll put the tin hat on and say Warne’s biggest issue is managing the expectations of a bunch of pearl clutchers who can’t sit through the grim reality of League One football at their precious Derby County and boo the team
  14. Ever since the change of logo, the Adidas train has picked up pace and is about to leave the station, I would very much like us to be on board
  15. More saying that if there’s an overwhelming majority of fans calling to sack Warne if we don’t go up this year, you start to wonder about losing season ticket renewals and attendances dropping - which is part of our advantage in this division I expect it would get pretty toxic online if we lost in the playoffs
  16. Look, I’ll preface this by saying I originally wanted us to keep Rosenior and, if we don’t go up, I’d be interested in a new manager with a more attacking style of play. I also may be playing devil’s advocate a bit… but I can see why Clowes would keep Warne You’re blowing valuable cash to sack a manager and his team when we’re primed to actually spend a decent wedge of money on the squad for the first time in years. He’s still technically only had one full season and will have an opportunity to make the squad his own. He inherited Rosenior’s team so you could argue he deserves a chance with a squad that will be almost entirely his - Hourihane really isn’t a Warne player for example but Ebou Adams fits like a glove. The playing staff may well want him to stay, can’t say for certain that Warne’s popular but they seem to be well motivated and getting results He has been promoted multiple times before, we’ve improved on last season, we’re in automatics contention this year - who’s to say next year wouldn’t be the year we win the whole thing by ten points? Also, if you sack him, he’ll be rocking up to Pride Park next season with Rotherham and all the evidence says they’ll be a serious promotion contender. If I’m Clowes, I’d have the worst case scenario in my head of watching Warne get promoted again while we waste a year trying to implement a new, more attractive playing style to satisfy the fans (who will then piss and moan about us passing it around the back) Like I said, I’m not sold on Warne but I’m prepared for another season if it happens. The fanbase loudly rejecting another year of “Warneball” in the fallout of this season is what would get him the sack imo there’s lots of reasons to stick with him
  17. If you go through the thread, there’s a flurry of “Warne Outs” around the final whistle You can’t sack him if he gets us promoted and I can’t believe there’s people who honestly are suggesting that - I’m sure top quality managers would be flocking to manage a club that sacks managers that get them promoted! If we don’t go up, I think there’s a serious conversation to be had whether we should go in a different direction but don’t be surprised if Clowes backs Warne again.
  18. Think we got cup finalled by Barnsley today Filled their stadium, got their fans riled up, made the most of the home advantage and we shrank into ourselves under the pressure in our biggest game of the season so far But Barnsley also caught us at a bad time, we’re without a striker and Gayle wasn’t ready to start. That doesn’t excuse the headless passing but we’d have made more of our chances with Collo playing today. It was still a fairly even game. We’ll have a similar situation at Pompey so we need to learn from this and get a result there to make up for today. We also need to make sure we’re the ones ‘cup finalling’ Bolton when they come to town. Stopping the calls for the head of a manager who’s clearly not getting sacked would be a good start.
  19. Away in a promotion six pointer, playing five at the back and scoring from a set piece routine with our 6’5 CB
  20. RD’s not been worth listening to ever since the woke mob got rid of Craig Ramage’s valuable insights I like it when he used to turn into the Alvaston Bob Dylan during the Mac 1 days “There’s something special ‘appenin ‘ere” (He’d say this after we’d just beaten Cardiff 1-0 on a Tuesday night or something equally innocuous)
  21. One fit striker? Luxury When I were lad, we played Dean Moxey up front and that were if you were lucky
