  1. Having Conor Washington back is like Julian Clary pitching up for the Spartans.
  2. Best moment of the day. This could save our season. Ban him for six months.
  3. In what world is a long ball game going to work with Washington up front?
  4. Are Derby bottlers? We’ll see in this next 25 minutes
  5. Or Bradley comes off, we get a LB on and Sibley moves forward
  6. Don’t need three at the back. Get Bradley off and Washington or CBT on. Northampton are pants but we’re making them look boxers.
  7. Bradley reminds me of John Cleese in Fawlty Towers when he got hit by the moose!
  8. The desire to fix things is the hardest to fight. As a counsellor, it’s important to keep remembering that the client is the only one who can find their own way through and that whilst they might get a better understanding of their issues, the sessions might not produce an actual improvement. In time, often after sessions have finished, the client might approach life differently and find a way forward.
  9. It’s sad to read so many stories of counselling and psychotherapy not being followed up. I guess in the private world you can choose to go back to the same counsellor, who may at least remember you. It wouldn’t normally be the done thing to share notes between counsellors though. The process is between two individuals, and any past notes will be from the other counsellor’s perspective and could unfairly sway the new relationship. The process has to be entered into wholly and honestly to achieve results. The counsellor isn’t there to cure. He/she/they will use their skills to coax out feelings which may have been hidden, or perhaps embedded. Each human has the capacity for change if they allow themselves permission to do so and get the support to do so. CBT works well for some, not so well for others, just as some swear by physiotherapy and some prefer chiropractic work. No treatment will work if a relationship isn’t established between the two and it pains me that one professional should disparage another. That would set me on edge. I hope each one of you finds the right person to open up to.
  10. That’s older than a tramp’s underpants😊
  11. To me we don’t play to his strengths. He’s at the wrong end of the pitch. He has a sweet left foot and is a good scoring option but for some reason finds himself in defence. I know he can’t run but the little energy he has should be focused on offence not defence. Let Ebou, Thompson, Smith etc do the grunt work. They aren’t goal scorers. Let’s make the most of Conor’s time here and have him lurking around the edge of the box waiting to rifle in a goal.
  12. Tidy player though he undoubtedly is, he wouldn’t make the kind of impact his fee would command. He’s neither a goal scorer nor an enforcer. He holds his position well and is a good passer but we need to spread the money across the squad. Better to get a younger player base and try to mould them into a team for the future.
  13. … and if he has a promotion on his CV it’s good for both parties.
  14. I always stay to the final whistle and to clap the players but edging towards the exit because the East Stand isn’t easy to escape from 😊 I have a train to catch and if there’s lots of extra time this can get a bit tricky. Fine if I’m in good shape because I can jog but I could well imagine many need more time.
  15. I guess they’re just getting a head start on the rest of the crowd without missing the action. Not for me, but I guess it works for them.
  16. Wildsmith Nelson Forsyth Cashin Wilson Smith Adams Sibley Mendez-Laing Waghorn Blackett-Taylor I think with three central defenders and Smith and Adams in front of them, we should be able to risk three up front and let CBT show what he’s capable of.
  17. They’re useful to keep in the cupboard for those times when you need something quick to eat but they don’t belong in anything described as a meal other, Eddie, than in a casserole. Good beer choice by the way.
  18. I think our issue is that 3 at the back and wing backs works fine against lesser teams but the better teams force the wide players back so they become ineffective. Ward in particular could rampage forward against Bristol Rovers but Bolton didn’t allow that. Whilst it’s great to keep a settled side, you sometimes have to play the best system for the opposition. We do just about have the personnel to do that. Our challenge will be where the goals come from. We have to hope that NML re-finds his form and that Collins’ return isn’t too far away. Can’t see Waghorn producing much more than bruises. But you never know!
  19. Loving the re-runs of Toast of London. Such wonderfully off-the-wall humour. Also Curb Your Enthusiasm continues to challenge social mores. Last night’s example of the cringey chain message posts on social media and the difficulty in extricating yourself from such chains was a classic. Larry D continues to face taboos head on. Long may he continue.
  20. He’s still got to walk. I don’t think he would have done any additional damage and indeed keeping it moving probably helps. Let’s hope it doesn’t keep him out for too long.
  21. … and the reason behind his Stiff Little Fingers
  22. That’s nice. Like the sky.
