observer got a reaction from jimtastic56 in Question for the boss
I got told he paid £40m to make it go away, althought I take that with a pinch of salt, I dont however doubt something was paid

observer got a reaction from GB SPORTS in Question for the boss
a few close connections who know him,
All say the same EGO was why we ended up were we did
he backed the club as much as he could and did what he thought would save us, not getting promoted and legal issues added to health issues etc.
people arent talking about what he paid middlesborough to go away
Facts are he fought the efl and lost noboby will admit that, derby suffered the consequences.
Its raw now over I would guess over time and as more facts come out people will forgive mel and just see it as a failure rather than anything malicious.

I dont doubt hes doing it for the right reasons,
but would imagine hes making the most of this very generous and expensive gesture / bail out.
various planning decisions across multiple sites are probably getting approved as we speak, or at least being 'revisted'
the hold up will be the council

come on everyone on here knows deep down he was/is a fan
yes its gone down the wrong path and lots of mistakes have been made!!
But come on
you dont chuck £200m at your hometown club if you not a fan, all this talk of he wanted the fame baalocks hes a ultra high net worth individual do you really think he was bothered, the only fame he wanted was the adulation of gettting Derby to the prem!

observer reacted to Crewton in CALLING MEL MORRIS
I don't believe that. I believe he started with good intentions - if you're not doing it for the love of the club, you don't pump millions of your own money in, you do what Mike Ashley did at Newcastle. I believe (from things I was told) that he got disillusioned gradually, exacerbated by the Pearson affair, and started to look for a way out sometime after that. He then, apparently, had serious health issues, death of a close friend (I know personally how that can change your outlook on life) and that's when it became "me or them" perhaps.
It doesn't excuse the bad decisions, the deterioration of relationships with sponsors, the EFL and other clubs, and ultimately leaving of the club, staff and fans in a dire situation, but it does help to explain some of it.

observer got a reaction from Derby4Me in Is Mel still 'pulling the strings'?
couldnt the fans crowdfund the £20m to OWN the stadium, then rent it the club for free but with tied in benefits, structured around season tickets and discounted hospitality /events
If fans want to TRULY be in control then owning the biggest asset is better than owning the actual club in some ways

Unfortunately that is how pig headed some people are.
There is only one way and that is the one that they believe to be true.
Agree with it or be called an anti vaxxer conspiracy theorist.
Sad times.

observer got a reaction from Crewton in Missing 10,000 it’s time too turn up
so me and my eldest had a season ticket for a fair few years, he lost interest around the time his brother was born so we stopped,
that brother now has another brother and Im thinking a big day out for us all is well overdue, just waiting for the right fixture.

I dont know about conspiracy theories and I dont know if I think of all this hidden agenda stuff
BUT
Something doesnt feel right, and for all the suffering and pain going on there certainly seems to be some very clear winners in all of this!!!

Not really when you consider it’s very skewed data ,, average age of death from covid in U.K. is above average life expectancy, deaths are calculated on the stated basis of dieing from ANY cause within 28 days of a positive covid test

observer got a reaction from Bob The Badger in The coronabrexit thread. I mean, coronavirus thread
Im still yet to see a fit and healthly person under the age of 60 thats died, sorry but its true.
Covid isnt anywhere close to as bad as the whole world would have you believe, and if its not as bad as they are making out you want to ask yourself who is winning in all of this misery!!

Getting people to fear covid to the level they do was genius, getting people to fear those that don’t feel that level of fear is a master stroke

observer got a reaction from Ram-Alf in Derby County Administration (with the slight possibility of Liquidation still there)
Just to add BAD debt is a part of any business whether your bob the window cleaner, msd a local supplier or even the almighty HMRC.
Its factored into decisions and sometimes insured against.
Everyone can sit on there high horse and say this and that, but none of us know the true finances and what should be done or how a football club is actually financed and ran day to day.
