Congratulations to all new and expectant parents on here.
As others have said, there is no advice that really is set in stone in my opinion since every child is different and what works for one will have no effect on another. Bear that in mind when your own parents inevitably say "Well I always used to do...[insert action here] with you when you were a baby..."
I have son number two on the way in Feb/March and it's the best thing ever.

Best advice is don't take advice. 
You kind of make it up as you go along and that's fine because babies are different. You follow the script and your baby won't. 
The only consistent thing that worked for me on both was after a week or so we started doing a feed as late as poss (like 2am) and then tried to make the baby go as long as possible without food. So at first it was like 2am - 5am. Then 5.30 and 5.45 and 6.00 etc until you could get like 6 hours sleep through the night quite early
They say don't do this. It's easy to say when you're wide awake. It's even easy to say when you've had 6 hours sleep in 2 days. Try 15 hours sleep in a week. All broken sleep with an hour here and two there. You can't function well on so little sleep so as soon as you can get settled then do it. 
But all techniques and stuff... figure it out yourself.

A lot of people with a moral compass that isn't broken and all. 

Without knowing all the facts it looks like a s**tty move from Mel and given his track record with sackings (remember Sam Rush and that day in court we never had?) it wouldn't surprise me if this is another one. 

I honestly would respect it a lot more if they were just honest and said "basically he's old AF, injured for 14 months, will probably never be the same player again and he's going to cost us a lot of money in wasted wages. The other 2 can hopefully be re-sold and can still play a part for us, it'd be too expensive to get rid of them and/or replace them, so we're less bothered, this has everything to do with money and football and nothing to do with morals" 
Instead, they've gone all high-horse about it and are trying to take some sort of ducked up moral high-ground and hoping we're too stupid to go "Eh?! What about Lawrence and Bennett who actually drove the cars!?"

Trying to defend this decision reeks of tribalistic politics tbh. It's like Liverpool fans defending Suarez for his racism or biting opponents simply because he was THEIR player at the time. Forget the club for a second in your thinking, imagine it was another clubs players, Forest's even, and the whole thing looks a hell of a lot different ... from the perspective of what's morally right/fair/just this is absolute bullcrap, and Lawrence/Bennett should be sacked too if Keogh has been shown the door. 

This is basically it. The club aren't saying that though... they're making out like it's a moral thing and that they won't "tolerate" such actions, which makes them look like a bunch of ducking hypocritical Bamfords when you take the Lawrence/Bennett situation in to account in your thinking tbh. 

I know a lot of you won't agree with me but I actually feel rather sorry for Keogh. What exactly is he guilty of?  Yes he didn't set a good example on that evening but Bennett and Lawrence were the ones who made the decision to drive and both are in their twenties and should know better. Lawrence had even attended a drink driving event prior to this. Yet Keogh is the one who was injured, possibly won't play again certainly not at this level which surely is punishment enough. Now he has the additional punishment  of being sacked. Meanwhile Bennett and Lawrence do some community service probably doing something  people volunteer to do in their free time and are back playing football a week later.

Admittedly I've not done a whole lot of reading – that books sounds good tho. I'll grab it on Audible so I can listen to it while I'm building baby furniture!
I dunno what your hospital offers, but if they do a antenatal classes take them – we had 4 x 2 hour classes that were immensely helpful (and free). We've paid 100 big ones for Baby Bump Club (a.k.a unofficial NCT) and they're essentially giving us the same info we've already had for free. Gawd-bless the NHS.
