Funny you should mention Bielsa when Warne is criticised for running the players into the ground.
Anyway, you're comparing managers that have much longer CV's and been at clubs where the base level of player has been better than what Warne has had at Rotherham to work with.
By going up, we are entering new territory with Warne having a club of this size to manage, we are not Rotherham.
I just can't understand the eagerness to write him off as being this incapable fool, surely the bloke deserves a little respect and a chance to manage this club in the Championship and prove his inabilities?
You went from this team wouldn't stay up, well duh, shifting it to his inability to get the best out of players whilst we're 1 point away from achieving promotion.
Feels like you've just set out to moan and piss on peoples chips on a day where we have moved to within a point away from promotion, no matter how much you may dislike or not rate his abilities, the timing is just bizarre, why can't we just sit and enjoy the moment instead of playing Nostradamus.
Whilst it might not be promotion to the Premier League, it's still a promotion and a significant one at that, if you can't just sit back, crack open a beer and enjoy it, I don't know why you bother with the game. It's not often we will have moments like this where the club has achieved something.
FA Cup, League Cup? Not a chance, the only other things we have left are promotion to the Premier League and Premier League survival, now in a week where the FA and PL have colluded to F the football pyramid over, to think the only time we can celebrate will be when we join that lot is s sad state of affairs.
And that's coming from someone that's desperate to see us back in the Premier League as well.

They are chanting warnes name AFTER games now , that’s not in game chants to raise the team , it’s praise for the job he is doing and well deserved it is too , he’s also not jumping in on the bounce to steal the players / fans joy , he is maintaining that line as the boss with a job to do , some on here may not like it but the majority of fans at games are giving Warne the respect and praise he deserves for what he is creating at derby ,
there’s an honesty and culture at the club now that’s been missing for a long time and I for one want to see where he can take it given time and a bit more to spend

This is another example of why my love for the game becomes a little more tarnished.
I’m proud of the fact that I have become an old-fashioned bitter football fan and I have no idea of what is happening in the first division, nor do I have any idea on who is still in Europe.  I don’t even know what the format of the European competitions are nowadays, and I really don’t care.  It’s all predicated on greed for the biggest clubs and every rule appears to be geared towards maintaining an “elite”.
I looked at the England squad not so long ago, and it had a number of players who I had never heard of.
I love Derby County and not much more, to be honest.
I love the fact that in the lower divisions, there are probably 16 or so teams at the start of the season who think that, if things go well, this could be their year.  However, that gap is becoming wider and wider each year due to the top echelons being governed by greed.
The fact that so many teams are going so close to the wire and getting points deductions is down to fear of slipping off the gravy train therefore eye watering amounts of money creates eye watering amounts of greed.
For me, a top level footballer should earn a maximum of what a CEO or a doctor would earn.  Why should they be earning that sort of money a week?  And why shouldn’t they get another job after they have retired?
Anyway, the FA Cup used to be a flagship event that everyone used to watch.  Everyone who is around my age will have seen Coventry Vs Tottenham and can probably list a good number of players from each side that day - they were very special occasions.  Now, the competition is dying a death of a thousand cuts, where it’s now just an irritant to the big teams, who will inevitably win it.  I don’t even know who is the current holder, but I think it is monopolised by of a tiny handful of teams.
    Anyway, apologies for my rant.

I recall - but this may be an older brain fade - that we tried enhancing the crowd noise through speakers at the BBG one year. It didn’t last long because the authorities said it was against the rules.
I think you’re only allowed to broadcast after goals are scored, when subs are made (ie information) and in emergency.

Change the League Cup to teams that aren't playing in a European competition that season. You qualify for Europe by winning it, so will give more varied winners, more fans a chance to see their team win a trophy, fewer games for the big boys.
I think it's pretty poor that the EFL and all clubs were just ignored, why do the FA think that only PL clubs should decide how it's organised, especially in rounds where PL clubs don't even enter. If there was a vote for Derby to boycott it, I'd support it.

    Sky TV is f****** s***.
It’s ruined the game as we know it. The benefit goes to parasitic agents, for reasons I have never understood (why don’t the players pay them - why the clubs?) and players exorbitant wages whilst those of us who actually go to the matches are merely ignored and inconvenienced at the whim of a TV schedule.
Football is nothing without the fans they all said during Covid. What a load of s*** that was. Sky TV can f*** right off as far as I am concerned.

On the ‘Warne breaks players’ topic Sportscene on Radio Derby was interesting last night listing many clubs across the leagues (including Orient) with high numbers of injuries this season. Perhaps it’s nothing to do with our training methods
If you look at the way he dealt with TJJ for example - a very careful reintroduction that unfortunately went wrong - or Rooney’s freak injury or Ward’s or Collo’s - then maybe there’s other factors at play.

I’m sick of this debate so once again, I’ll bow out, safe in the knowledge that I’m personally enjoying the team being second in the league, potentially two games away from promotion, record points total for a season, equalled our record away wins and could still beat it, best goal difference in the league as it stands, equal highest number of wins in the league as it stands, loads of set piece goals….theres plenty I’m enjoying and will continue to do so.
    You do you friend.

I've also always thought that because of this, it's in agent's interest to keep moving players around as much as they can as they get a sweet cut of any move - and I'm pretty certain there's been more than one player made a move they wouldn't really made but for the advice of their agent and it's not worked out for them.
The "look at them throwing money around" narrative is going to come up a lot over the next few weeks.

I have never understood how football has allowed this bizarre situation to be accepted where the Clubs pay the fees for the player’s agents. These players employ their agents- they work for them and benefit from their efforts. Yet the Clubs pay the fees ! It’s nonsense. The players themselves should be paying for THEIR agent’s fees.
    Madness.

A win was everything yesterday and it was warne and the players job to get that win ,,, bugger all else mattered, it was a tight first half where we edged it and got the lead ,
second half started and boy was I frustrated for a while , said to my wife that we seemed to want to play like we are 3-0 up and game over , we gave them space to play and like everyone else I was shouting at them to wake up and press on to them but soon got the nagging feeling we were happy to let them play and have space in areas they wernt hurting us , get in our shape and not chase everything, dive in and get played round then hit them on the break , we may not like it at times , we may wrongly feel we are being massively outplayed at times but by god it was a mature performance, free from the naivety that has plagued us at times ,
paul warne ? ,,,,like him or not ( i really like him and want him to be given the chance to see how much more he’s got) those who come on here and call him a clown , a kick and rush merchant without a clue or even a thought on tactics are very very wide of the mark ,
warne and his team may not always get it right ( who does ) but make no mistake, there’s a lot of hard work and thought going into how to beat each team we come up against , they are not clueless kick and rush merchants, you can’t and don’t have to get it right every time , you have to get it right more often than not and enough times over a season to do well and even get promoted,
at the end of games Paul warne is the one I have a main eye on going round the ground to applaud fans and hope he’s really enjoying it , I want to see him start the bounce if and or when we are promoted with the biggest smile on his face as I’m pretty sure he will when he feels he’s achieved something, the target promotion not a fleeting moment of a good win , that’s for us fans and the players ,he’s got a job to finish ,, you can bet he isn’t taking the players out for a wallet busting pxss up when the job is nowhere near done yet ,,, that’s what I see and like in warne and his team,
oh and another day I really enjoyed in a season im really enjoying,,,, live in the now folks is my advise🤷🏻‍♂️

ilkleyram got a reaction from Ram-Alf in Points Deduction, Who's Next And When Will It Stop?
Why would any punishment of Leicester have to be retrospective? They could be deducted points the next time they’re in the PL. There’s no chance any punishment will be this season anyway. There’s only six weeks to go. It’ll take that long to appoint a barrister never mind brief them.

ilkleyram got a reaction from Ram-Alf in Can someone please explain
It's probably the principle that if those things have been photoshopped then maybe the whole photo has been photoshopped, which then ties in with the conspiracy theories no doubt circulating widely on twittergram that she's actually dead/an alien/never going to walk again following her operation/been abducted by Meegan and Hal (fill in your own favourite theory here)
The fact that no photo used by any of the media at any time hasn't been manipulated in some way, whether that's simply cropped to size or more sinister, seems to have passed everyone by. Whether it's actually of any importance probably depends on whether you think the Royal Family and their health issues are important.  Some do, some don't.
It does say two things of interest - that whoever did the photoshopping isn't very good at it and needs some training and, secondly, that our media are now so paranoid (perhaps with good reason) about being manipulated that they check and are worried about even the most innocent of photos, even allowing for the fact that most of them, including the BBC, published it before they checked it.

But we should do - compare DC and MM that is - because they are both in exactly the same position financially, albeit that the actual amounts are different.
When push comes to shove our outgoings exceed our incomings. We therefore need DC to find ways of filling in the monetary gap, for all his talk of sustainability. Exactly the same with MM. The difference, at the moment, is that DC is (unlike MM latterly) showing every sign of trying to control our outgoings and is prepared to fill the financial gap. It was MM refusing to continue to fill the financial gap that led to administration.  There’s nothing, other than our current confidence in a new owner, that says that that situation cannot repeat itself.
That same concern applies, or should do, to the vast majority of football clubs in this country, Premier league or Efl,  which is one of the reasons that the epl and efl are belatedly challenging the financial performances of a number of clubs.
DC saved my, our, football club. He’s clearly a fan; he’s clearly brought about a degree of financial control that was lacking; he’s clearly prepared to, for the time being at least, fill in the financial gaps.  But for all we might not want to believe it now, that could change.  It’s a situation that absolutely demands a large degree of patience from us when we cannot afford a young, dynamic striker/defender/midfielder that’s effectively a short term financial gamble however much we fans might want him.
