Take no notice Bob , anybody our age will surely understand that though you might not get to games regularly at any stage of life for various or any reasons , when big games / days like this or Wembley come along there’s a real urge to want to be there , it’s not like your screaming you deserve a ticket but you are simply saying you would absolutely love to be there and would do what it takes to get a chance of a ticket 🤷🏻‍♂️,
im lucky enough to have season tickets at the moment but it doesn’t make me anymore of a fan than you ,,, I hope you get a ticket mate👍

The thing is, how we fare in the Championship (should we get there) doesn’t depend solely on Warne.
It will require Clowes, Pearce, Hale, Thomas, Warne and all the other key people at the club working well to get things right.
The common denominator between teams that go up and prosper and teams that fall flat is not style of play. It’s how the club operates, the resources they have to be able to improve, and how they work strategically to achieve that.
Many think Warne will be the weak link moving forward, but if he has a team of good football people around him and the backing of the board, maybe collectively we’ll be stronger and more switched on than people assume.

For good or ill, football is a results business.  I nearly lost faith following the Crewe defeat in November (as I was nervous of the tactics), but a winning run put an end to that.
Warne, should we gain promotion, will then have a two year contract playing in the Championship.  I think, based on statements by Clowes, he would have a goal of keeping us up and everything else being a bonus.  Failure there, and I think he would be in deep trouble.
You ask about when to have the debate.  Simple; it becomes live when any of the following happen:
    a) if we fail to go up - the debate starts immediately on us being knocked out the pay offs
    b) we go up, he get's a budget but it doesn't work and he offers no constructive approach to remedy the issue (effectively we are slow walking to relegation) - but this is next January/Feb at the earliest
    c) we are re-relegated, under all the circumstances.

My point is that he is going for set goals, which i contend some are confusing for tactics.  A strategy is: we get up, stay up and then, and only then, truly look to kick on.  If he fails at any of these strategy, there are arguments the strategy has not worked.
Tactics are how you get there.
The tactics will change with the opposition, let alone the league.  The players will improve as TV money will allow a better standard. The demands and the style of play will change.
Our current tactics probably will not work.  Warne's job will be to find the players and the tactics to meet his objective.  We cannot judge him on a standard, when we demand he meets a completely different standard that is wholly divergent: we demand he gets results to win promotion, but in a less skilful league of flying tackles where fancy football gets you loads of possession and no end result (ala LR).  We then criticise the lack of skill.  Therefore, he has to win the promotion in front of him like beating the team in front of you.  He is plainly succeeding here.
We have no idea what a Warne side in the Championship will look like, never mind the tactics he would deploy - and nor do you nor anyone on this site.  Rotherham gives a guide, but they did not have our resources and only tell you so much.  The fact is, if he succeeds he has earned his shot

In place of who though? To finish in the top 2 we’d have needed 22 more points at least, that’s a big, big swing for another manager to achieve. And it was with a squad assembled by somebody else. You’ve said before “I hate this team”, so clearly the players didn’t have what it took any way?
I’m not Warne’s number 1 fan, I’m not sold that he is the right long term option for us and I’d have been very happy to see him sacked after Stevenage away. But he’s gone on to make us dogged, resilient and efficient.
I can accept people may dislike his playing style or his personality, whatever, but I can’t see how anybody could argue that he’s not done an excellent job - providing we finish the job - given the circumstances.
He’s taken a side who was pieced together under restrictions by a different manager, straight out of administration, and built an ethos and an atmosphere that a lot have clearly bought into. I really don’t think it matters how big a side we are or how many fans we have, to be in this position 20 months after nearly ceasing to exist is a wonderful achievement.
Whether he finishes next season as our manager or not will remain to be seen, but he absolutely deserves the opportunity to take us into the Championship.

Derby should have sacked Davies, but not for being an inappropriate manager for the PL, but because he was a sh*t-stirrer who only cared about himself.
I'd rather not be one of those clubs who sacks a manager who's brought them success simply because they think there are "better options out there" (see Birmingham City 2016-2024).

invest a chunk in getting rid of warne and his team and the rest on players to suit a new manager who if he doesn’t cut it we will be entrenched in how he wanted us to play,
polarising ? Liam was polarising , I personally didn’t enjoy his style and where I sit heard far more moaning and groaning during games than under warne 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank Warne, give him a bonus, and give him a pay-off before a ball has been kicked? All based on a feeling?
What sense would there be in that?
I don’t dispute we will be operating a bigger budget if we go up. However surely we will still need to spend and use our resources wisely?
If we are looking to improve the squad and ensure we are competitive, surely every penny counts? Surely it would make more sense to invest everything we can in the team? Bear in mind, we’d not just be paying off Warne but also any staff that came in to be part of his team.
Why would you advocate for a change upon promotion? The only way it would make sense to me is if working relationships behind the scenes were irreparably damaged and there is no evidence of that, to my knowledge.
I don’t understand why you assume the style of play is destined to be terrible. Maybe I am wrong but I figure it will be determined by the players Warne and the club can attract. Surely Warne will be trying to get better players who can do what he wants more effectively. Perhaps these better players will be more well rounded and able to play in more than one way.
We have played good football at times under Warne and usually it has been built around the better players we have had. If we sign 3-4 players with the ability of a Bird or the flair and vision of a McGoldrick, why can’t we go up and play a brand of football that is pleasing to the manager and the fans?

Warne's last relegation 'disaster' was with a Rotherham team with one of the lowest incomes in the Championship at the time, living on crowds of around 9,000. Further to this not only was money not given to him to strengthen the team, they actually made a profit on player sales of nearly £2m, which contributed to an overall profit of nearly £3m. This was after a promotion season when they again made a profit on player sales, nearly £1m on that occasion.
Warne hasn't had any financial backing from his club in the past and has been working under restrictions for the last 2 seasons at Derby. On the one hand, you can defend him by saying that he hasn't had any financial backing in the past, but on the other hand you can question his experience in actually spending money on players.
When comparing our spending potential next season, if we were to gain promotion, you need to consider what situation other 'non parachute payment' teams are in. Assuming that most of them have been loss making, they may be under pressure to balance the books, whereas we have a cleanish slate.

Sometimes a manager comes into a club and doesn’t like a player, or doesn’t play to their strengths, or the player themselves isn’t settled or quite right or ready for that league at that time or isn’t fit etc etc. Just because they didn’t play at their previous clubs doesn’t mean they can’t succeed for us, players progress and develop as much as decline and falter.
Catastrophising our prospects next season before we’ve even got the job done this season always seems odd to me. I recommend living in the moment and enjoying the ride of these last 2 games, then we can get on with worrying about what happens next 😁
