I think he had a fracture along with a problem in his foot initially that was something they picked up when he was young and needed fixing, hence his long absence and subsequent 'top-heavy' return. As someone else said, I don't think they managed his recovery well, he did come back looking massive on top and seemed to have lost something fitness wise.
