Jordan Rhodes, Andre Grey, Callum Wilson, Troy Deeny, Jamie Vardy, Rickie Lambert, Charlie Austin....

Just a quick off the top of my head list of strikers signed by championship clubs from lower league clubs for no more than a couple of million in recent years who had great potentional and went onto succeed.

I appreciate for every 1 Andre Grey there are 10 Liam Dickinsons, but if we are taking scouting seriously then we should be picking the top talent up from league 1 and 2.

The 5 million we absolutely threw away on Blackman and Camara could have bought a right couple of gems.

If we go onto signing Crouch/Barton, why bother having a scouting network?

Do we still have a foreign scout?

I appreciate Albentosa wasn't a stellar success whilst here but I haven't heard another foreign player mentioned since then, except on here.

I would prefer Bent and Long, which sounds like my willy.

I am sure I watched MOTD once and Bishop, Vickers, and Cureton were all playing at the same time. No trouble converting chances with that lot

We don't need him or any new striker but I want us to bring Martin back if not then realistic signing would be sensible and I'm going for Matty Taylor that's only If Martin isn't coming back. (BIG IFS)

We don't need a new striker - but should bring Martin back or sign someone?

thats contradictory

No it isn't...

BUT - used to introduce a phrase or clause contrasting with what has already been mentioned

DEL is saying we don't NEED a new striker

He's also saying he would LIKE to get Martin back

The BUT in the middle means that whilst he would like to bring Martin back there is no NEED to do so... It's just something he would like to happen...

He actually says "but [should]" so it's not indicating that it is a desire but something we should do. An implied need albeit not as strung as saying must.
