Duracell
3 hours ago, Carl Sagan said: Odd when his contract was extended over the summer, and also when we've tried to convert him from winger to wingback but when the opportunity arises he's clearly nowhere near contention. Not that odd in the context of actually needing to put out XIs in the U23 league and cups which can compete. Academies only produce a handful of first teamers over the span of a decade - but those players need others to train and play with.
ilkleyram
Didn't play last night when Eastleigh beat Swindon in the FACup - perhaps we didn't want him cup tied. Eastleigh are managed by Ronnie Moore, he of Tranmere fame amongst others

Yani P
Watched him last week in the Cup and sadly he was terrible. He came on at the start of the 2nd half as a sub (put on the left wing) and looked just totally out of his depth, he lost the ball every time it came to him, was eased off the ball too easily every time he tried to shield it - poor lad looked quite dejected when he was in turn subbed off but it was the only thing the manager could do as he provided nothing at all. Might just have been a really off game but felt a bit sorry for the lad to be fair..cant see him getting another look at Eastleigh..

Yani P
Just noticed - maybe it was just a poor fit but he was terrible in that match so hopefully send him somewhere else and see a better player..but he has to be a million miles from breaking into our team.. No point giving him a one-year contract and then keep sending him out. Either we renewed him as a makeweight in the U23s for this season or we renewed him as a possible first-team squad player. Or we thought we'd get a fee for him if we kept him under contract. But as his conttract's only this season and surely won't be renewed again unless he breaks through, there doesn't seem much point sending him off to another club. Hopefully Eastleigh was just for fitness (as he wouldn't have been allowed to go to a league team). Disappointing to hear he wasn't starting a nonleague level but I know Bristol Rovers fans who were rather surprised we took him.
