Why would we let Mitchell go permanently?

Because think he got 1 years left? And don't think he'll get games here.

Grant's contract is up this summer.

Pretty sure he signed new deal which would be another year left?

I watched Mitchell play for Luton against Barnet and was very close behind the goal. even with a lot of abuse from the Barnet fans i thought he was very solid. very commanding and didn't put a foot wrong.

I think hes got a future at derby. personally he is better than Grant and Roos. number 2 this year.

He'll get a new contract. He'll be a superb GK in his prime.

After his spell at Luton and playing for the u21's you' think it was time to make a decision on his long term future.

After all we've seen him play for both sides now.

A lady I knew in Bristol used to - and no, I never had the pleasure, so to speak.

Mitchell would benefit more by going out on loan, sitting on our bench wouldn't do him any favours. Needs to be playing, getting experience under his belt.

Grant is a more than adequate keeper to have on the bench for us.

I think you could only have the recall clause on an emergency loan due to transfer window policy, therefore if you loan a player out for 6 months, they are effectively unavailable for that time.

...or a youth loan.

Short term, I agree, but ask Brighton about how small the margin of error can be in missing promotion. Cover all options as best that we can. Four or five unforced errors from an iffy goalkeeper can be 4-15 points lost at worst.
