Your argument seems to be that modern transfers are too complicated for a manger to handle. If the manager had to do everything himself, then yes, you might have a point. However, do you seriously believe that Clough or Mackay or Even Smith or Cox completed the entire process without help?

Clubs now have more money to employ specialists to get the contractual details right, so that doesn't add anything to the manager's workload.

It is a choice to reduce the manager's involvement in transfers, not a necessity.

We'll have to agree to disagree then.

Wow, we are five games in, and overall our performances have been pretty good. Sure we're not the dynamic attacking team as we were under McClaren scoring loads of goals, but we're also not conceding as many goals as we used to as well. We aren't going to be getting rid of Clement any time soon, we're not that kind of club, with Morris and Rush setting promotion as a three year target for him.

They're going to give the manager time to put his stamp on the team, and considering he's only had 5 games and 4 of them have been draws I'm more than confident he'll come good. If this is as bad as it's going to get then I'm more than happy.

The direction the club has taken since Sam Rush got the C.E.O,job means the person in charge of the ins and outs of the club is not the manager because we now have a head coach and the managers role is now redundant.,

Im looking forward to how Clements deals with the players at his disposal, and im sure he has a lot to learn in a short time.

and i wish him well.     At the moment fitting the major signings like Bent and Weiman while trying to get the best out of Ince,

With pearce wondering what hes doing at the club with so many defense options, all this while getting the squad use to his methods and of coarse the board looking for a return on their investment. The good news is if the appointment fails then

the C,E,O would have egg on his face .So time will be given to Clements to use his coaching skills.

Plan B  sack Evans after all he is in charge of the scouting system ,and a professional  in the game,

Director of football.and then we move on. Who is responsible for transfer activity stand up please,

it aint Clements

Hardly takes a genius to find these players

More than just finding players though, it's also about negotiating and getting the deal done. Big Sam won't do it alone.

It does seem a tad unfair that any signings that don't work out mean Chris Evans ain't up to it and any good signings are well done Big Sam.
