I would suggest it might be complacency.

I would suggest that complacency is an attitude rather that a position.

Taking a position involves a degree of thought and decision making.

Defence and keeper still.

plus DM

and maybe a bit short of a reserve centre forward.

maybe we could do with an Archie Gemmill or Willie Carlin

and a Mackay - a leader.

and a bit more pace

and a left sided centre back

and a freekick specialist

haven't we just signed a free kick specialist?

We have indeed!

We could do with an indirect FK specialist though. Mascarell last season delivered some fantastic FK's/Corners, I think we'll miss that a little this year if we don't bring someone in who can do it.

In terms of weakness

I said 'right back in terms of quality and left back in terms of cover.

You said 'we have Christie and Warnock (as back up)

I said 'That was my point'

Therefore, i am suggesting that Christie is low on quality and Warnock isn't good enough to be cover.

I skipped straight to p2, read the top post and I needn't read owt else. Sage nails it.

All I'd chip in is that Chris Martin is still missing cover, but I'd sooner look to do what Mac should have done and loan in if necessary rather than pod our for a bench warmer.

i swear i heard fozzy was named lb of the year or something

Boro's Friend was top LB. Think I heard Fozzy was in the top 5 but don't know for sure.

agreed, but what about ssenkwambo, came as  highly rated young right back, got injured and I haven't heard if he is back up and running.

He played a little for the U21's at the end of the year I believe. I wouldn't rest any hopes on him, he's highly rated for his potential, not his current ability. Highly doubt he's breaking into our first team any time soon.

I entirely agree, I would have included that too but was pondering this question with reference to who else we might sign. Already have Bent and Weimann as alternatives i can't see us buy cover as well. This is a mistake IMO but then again I've never coached Real Madrid.

I don't think we could realistically buy/tempt in cover good enough to fill Chrissy's boots, and there doesn't seem much point buying someone who can't. Loan if necessary, unless an old head could be brought in for a year. I'd have said Kevin Davies if he was two years younger.

If he happy to play second fiddle i'd have got Steve Davies back. No jokes please.

Baird is another one who has a free kick on him as well I believe?

I don't know that to be honest, but I'm not expecting Baird to play all that much. He's probably going to get most of his game time coming on late to help see out games.
