As big a club as we are and have been at times it's amazing how little our top spends amount to. 

People can say what we want about our spending but in truth over the last few years we've created a championship contention squad with much lower spending then those who've been around us. Hopefully now we've started spending we can leave them all behind us.

The cheek of people to say these things when we had 29,000+ at our ground last season on average while some others play in sheds in front of 12,000.

technically, Kinkladze was actually our record transfer, but, as it was paid in euros, the sterling value never sticks, but at the time of the transaction it was more than what the Earnshaw transfer became.

didnt use euros back then...just to be a pedant.
