How do you get to away games?

Recommended Posts

What is the main way people travel to away games and why?

Do people drive because it's normally quicker to get home or do you go by coach or train so you can have a drink or just simply can't drive?

Do many people travel on organised transport and if not, why not?

Last question, what are your thoughts on Coach Hire in general?

I'm just studying at the moment and this kind of research is part of my project.

I buy a ticket and go

;)

I drive - often staying overnight to avoid the rush (I don't take long holidays, so much of my annual leave is used for football - especially for midweek games)

Buses are too cramped for me - I have a history of deep-vein thrombosis.

Camper van :)

The Black & White surf bus on tour.

Get there early, park next to the ground, chill out on t'interweb in the back, have a coffee and a sarnie, go to game, do the same after while the traffic dies away, drive home.

Although Saturday were going on the train for a change.

I like in Lincoln, so I drive pretty much everywhere. Train/Bus services are normally bad, especially for midweek games, never a train coming back!

Second your midweek games train gripe, theres a train roughly every 20 mins to Nottingham, until 9 20 weeknights, next train home is 11, then 2 more before midnight.

To answer the question, train away at weekends, car midweek.

So if coach was more accessible would you consider using this form of transport?

I have noticed from frequenting on this site that you like to make short break holidays from away games  :)
