curb
Have they stitched his leg on the wrong way round? Only joking, fantastic to see him kicking a ball again.

Alph
Impressive comeback. Was told he'd never play again at this level without injections etc. even then that it would be incredibly difficult to play with demands of such a high level. Impressive guy. I hope now he's come this far he goes all the way and gets back to high level football. Top bloke. Would have been easy to quit. And whatever people say about "why quit when he's earning"... He wouldn't be back to where he is now if it was about money.
Mostyn6
Powerful picture. I really hope he pulls on the shirt again, and is selected for the right reasons and not just as a PR stunt. I've said many times, I think the reception he would get would make a lot of people very emotional, I reckon I would definitely shed a tear or two. If that's somehow aligned with a promotion celebration, it'll be too much for me!!!

Srg
Wow, you're hard. In the grand scheme of things, Thorne is infinitely more important to our team than Barker could've or would be.
r4derby
I know, just look at him. Who would have thought we would see Raul in a Rams shirt
Dimmu
What the sausage is that? Physio room against the rest? I'll cry if he plays. Guaranteed. Thorne or Barker, I don't make difference... I'll just cry.

You'll get no argument from me on that front. For purely sentimental reasons it's stirring to see Barker back on the training ground, with the possibility of playing again at some level. I've got a bit of a soft spot for Barker, as I've only ever been to see Derby play live once, and that was against QPR a few seasons ago, and Barker scored the equaliser. Animal is a Ram
Last game of the season is Reading at home. Or as it might be called, Shaun Barker's testimonial.
MuespachRam
In the grand scheme of things, Thorne is infinitely more important to our team than Barker could've or would be. Barker has played almost 100 games for us, a very capable centre half, a very good leader and a very good captain.....Thorne has played a dozen games for us, decent enough player, but as said many a time, playing in a very very good team that were flying high in the easiest position on the pitch. I would say a fully fit Barker is more important to us than a fuly fit Thorne....I am just not sure we will ever see that again.

BennettDCFC
Ability wise, I'd argue that. Don't think Barker would touch our team right now. Are you serious? Barker won everything in the air... When Carroll was being hyped about Barker beat him to everything.. Then you see Keogh who struggles against King for Blackburn? Barker and Buxton would be my first choice centre half partnership.. 2 old fashioned centre half's.. Not Keogh where he runs out the back 10 yards, turns around and passes it backwards or when he does play it forward he plays it at knee height and 50mph. Mostyn6
don't want to hijack this thread by turning it into one where Keogh is slated/praised, BUT.... A fit Barker (pre-injury) would surely get on the team sheet before Keogh?!?! Keogh was Shackell's replacement not Barker's, and people always wanted the Barker and Shackell partnership. If we are judging Barker right now, it's a silly conversation, because nobody knows to what level Barker can get back to.
MuespachRam
Ability wise, I'd argue that. Don't think Barker would touch our team right now. A fully fit Barker would absolutley walk into this team right now, he would easily be the best centre half at the club, by an absolute mile...which goes to show you where we need to strengthen if we want to progres........
