Song for Bent

Rampton

Did any of you notice the song that was played over the PA when Bent scored tonight?

The Merrymen - Feeling Hot Hot Hot

Maybe a subtle hint as to what song to sing to DB.

Ole Ole

Ole Ole

Ole Ole

Ole Ole

Darren Bent Bent Bent!

I also like the new Chris Martin song

Up The South Stand!

As for the Slade / Chris Martin song, being a new internet fad

Rangers were singing it 2 years ago as an alternative to their sometimes banned sectarian Billy Boys Chant.

as I reported in a much earlier thread.

I like it

I think we would be better off waiting for Brighton to come up for a song for Leon Best and then just copy that.

The Chris Martin is just the latest in a long line of cringeworthy songs copied literally days after becoming big hits on the internet.

Are you always this miserable G-star? Every thread I looked at this morning you are moaning about something ;-)

Time of the month!

Don't mean to come across as a moaner, we are in a great position but I can't help but think standards have slipped a bit over the last few weeks.

For the first time since McClaren and Co arrived I even think the feel good factor is wearing off around the place as things begin to work against us.

After the drastic improvements made I think it would be a massive shame for all involved if we didn't get our reward this season.

I just think it makes us look quite sad that every time we hear a new song from another team, or every time something appears on the internet, we are singing at the next match as if it is our own!

The new Chris Martin song is worse than the old one. I don't mind the old one, until they do it the 2nd time with the "lyrics". Why would he shag his missus "until she's dead"? That would be a somewhat counter-productive move surely?

I was surprised that the South Stand didn't pick up on the Bent Bent Bent/ Hot Hot Hot hint over the PA

Poor bloke has had to score three goals before he got a half hearted "Bent Bent Darrn Darren Bent, Gets the ball, scores a goal (doesn't even rhyme!) Darren Darren Bent"

That's not the same song though, just the same tune. Hibs had a similar song last season.

The Martin one is embarrassing because it is literally the same song, and we started it a few days after it's been online. Classic Derby fans.

True I was cringing but still sung it I guess. 1st heard it for Bony for Swansea.

Since I was young I remember another team sung it and we copied it kinda of sad. Suprised we didn't nice Forests' version of 'By far the greatest team' which they put a twist on sounded good.

Really?

I thought that it made its debut at Bournemouth last season - and I certainly never heard anybody else sing it before then. In fact, wasn't there a discussion on here after the Bournemouth game about whether it sounded better singing "the" instead of "'em" or "us"?

Was started at Charlton away I think.

Even Charlton were singing it before us, they were singing it that day also. Likely heard them singing it in a pub etc and copied it.

Darren Bent song should be the old Darren Moore song. That's what I was singing in my front room when he scored anyway.

Doesn't even fit into the tune of 'since I was young'. Poor effort.

Fair idea, but the point of the Darren Moore song was that he looked a bit like BA Baraccus

Darren Bent on the other hand looks more like Carlton from the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air..
