Chesterfield opinions.

A mate just pointed me in the way of their board, we are getting slated, terrible team, quiet fans, run down ground, radio derby poor, Martin fat and shocking.

Think a lot of them think they haven't got enough credit. I think the main problem is they still act like a bottom tier team managed by a physio playing at saltergate. They are a league one team doing well and are there on merit.

Even a forum was mentioned. But let's get this right, they played very well and we were poor. Put them against a wolves or Brighton (first 20) rams performance and it would of been very different.

Run down ground? As soon as I saw that I knew it was a waste of time looking at what they thought on that forum.

Probably same fans that didn't collect their tickets after moaning all week about not being able to get any.

We've got our share of fools on this forum, doesn't mean we all are though.

Disagree. I thought they made plenty of noise.

Must be my hearing. I sit in the SS right next to them and considering the volume, it was very poor. On another day we could of won 5-0 with the chances we had. Did they actually have anything clear cut? Their chance in the first minute was brilliant defending from Christie but apart from that? Think their fans need a reality check

TBF looking at the highlights they should have really scored at least two of their chances.

And we should have scored two other chances and a Bent hattrick. Game ends 4-2, what's your point? Does it matter what they could or should have done? They should have but they didn't.

Think the game meant a lot more to them and theirs than us.

Why would our fans be all hyped up?

On the pitch they played well but most their chances came when we were testing 352. In the second half they I felt we played ok and made chances easily. Bent x2, Russell and Hughes (goal) all having great chances. I only getting worried by them twice.

There was a bit of a stir among our fans late in the 2nd half I didn't understand. Out attacks were getting a bit sloppy but we didn't look in much danger for that period.

I barely care what they think of our ground or fans. What sort of ground and atmosphere would they have if they were playing Matlock?

Just had a read. They seem to be craving our approval if nothing else. Many fans complaining about us not giving them enough credit...

They seemed a good side who could quite easily hold their own in the Championship. However, any of their fans saying we were poor also fail to mention/don't realise we were experimenting with new formations and therefore an adjustment period was needed as players adapted to the new system.

Chesterfield fans saying they deserved to win, I disagree. Football is about goals, it's no good ''playing us off the park'' if you don't back that up with goals. Admittedly we weren't at our best yesterday but the fact we were clinical and converted 2 of our limited number of chances makes us the superior team.

Overall, I was impressed with Chesterfield, organised side that did well to supress a lot of our play but we were simply more clinical and that's how you win games...

I am just being fare to them as they played well. And yes Bent should have scored a hatrick. Point back over to you.

They looked ok, but considering we played a number of experimental systems, and weren't particularly at our best, we still had more than enough in the tank to put this one to bed.

It's a harsh truth, but this was always the kind of game that we thought we could try a few things in and get away with it. And we were right.

Quiet fans? They belted "we're the pride of derbyshire" a few times. Considering its their cup final and there was 5k of them, they were poor. Southport + Leeds made more noise.

Know a few Chesterfield fans

General opinion about their fans and the turn out yesterday, was loads had gone as a first game, others were ones who just go for big games and some hoping for a good cup run like the time they got to the semis. As well as the die hard regulars.

So most didn`t know the chants!!

Re run down ground everyone was Impressed by our stadium
