ROTHERHAM United have completed the loan signing of Conor Sammon from Derby County until the end of the season.

The Republic of Ireland international arrives on the back of a loan spell earlier in the campaign at Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town, where he scored one goal in 19 appearances.

Sammon made his name north of the border with Kilmarnock, where he netted 17 times in 65 games, earning himself a big money move to Wigan Athletic.

He has represented his country nine times to date, but is yet to find the target.

Clue - it's at the end of the pitch, equi-distant between the two corners!

Frontman links up with Rotherham United for the rest of the season.

Derby County forward Conor Sammon has joined Sky Bet Championship outfit Rotherham United on loan for the rest of the season.

The 28-year-old has joined the Millers following the mutual termination of his season-long loan deal at Ipswich Town, which he signed last August.

Under the terms of the loan agreement, Sammon will not be eligible to face the Rams in the away fixture at Rotherham next month.

Thank god, Rotherham have signed Salmon just in time to score a Hatrick against Bournemouth on Saturday. What a great ploy by Derby to put a prolific goal scorer out on loan. Hopefully he can charge around like a Bull in a China shop and take out Matt Ritchie..

Matt has just signed a new 3.5 year contract at Bournemouth and it seems Red and Black runs through his veins..!! good for both him and the club, as Bournemouth falter via the Play off's, someone will have to pay a huge sum to Bournemouth. As i'm sure he will want to play in the Premiership next year or a club that gets more than 10,000 at home !!
