DcFc Dyycheee
Steve McClaren is set to sign Stoke City's England under-21 goalkeeper Jack Butland on loan. McClaren, the Derby County manager, has moved for Butland after an injury to regular No 1 Lee Grant and expects to complete a deal later on Monday. Butland, who was part of Gareth Southgate's under-21s team which secured qualification to Euro 2015 last week, should make his debut away at Blackpool on Tuesday night. Stoke have been determined to loan out Butland to give him regular games as he is effectively the club's No 3 behind Asmir Begovic and Thomas Sorensen. And with Grant struggling with an ankle problem, Butland is set for some much-needed game time in the Championship.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/derby-county/11174050/Jack-Butland-to-make-loan-move-to-Derby-County-in-search-of-much-needed-game-time.html

Cam the Ram
Would rather Roos get a chance if Grant is out injured
David
Just did it mate, hold your horses. Got to be quicker than that! What's happened to Grant, didn't realise he was injured?
Papahet
Roos deserves a chance, was impressed against Reading in the cup
Cam the Ram
Got to be quicker than that! What's happened to Grant, didn't realise he was injured? Late on against Reading one of their players fell on his ankle and he was limping around. Had to stay on at we'd already used our 3 subs for other injuries
Ambitious
I highly doubt this. We'll see. Butland is a very gifted goalkeeper; the sort Steele could get the best out of and perhaps make better than Grant given time. However, Grant's experience is great and he's a very good goalkeeper. The ankle injury seems blown out of proportion.
Cardifframs
Got to be quicker than that! What's happened to Grant, didn't realise he was injured? Grant picked up an injury Saturday Couldn't kick with his right foot ,and had to revert to throwing to halfway line, and with his weaker left foot Was hobbling quite bad
DcFc Dyycheee
Grant must be out for some time then, otherwise why not use Roos for the odd game or two. Played well vs Reading in the cup!
DCFC Else
Surprised to say the least. Must not be confident in Roos.

Both have agreed 93-day loans that will see Butland make his Derby debut at Blackpool tomorrow and Wilkinson line up for Millwall at Wigan on the same night. Derby moved quickly for Butland after regular number one Lee Grant suffered a fractured foot. Stoke boss Mark Hughes was planning to play Butland in the Capital One Cup after he played and impressed in the two previous rounds. But he now believes the prospect of three months of solid football in a team chasing promotion in the Championship will better serve the England under-21 keeper. David
Still need 2 keepers, if one is available that is better than Roos then surely we should go for it? Roos will still be getting games for the U21's
Ambitious
Surprised, but great to see us move quickly on a quality replacement.
Animal is a Ram
Owen Bradley @OwenBradley As I've said, off to Moor Farm in a bit so will have more info then, but does look like Grant is hurt & Butland will sign on-loan. #dcfcfans Steve Nicholson @SNicholsonDT At Moor Farm. Lee Grant not training ... I thought Roos was good quality, but Mac/Steele must think he's not quite ready yet. Still Butland is some talent. Ambitious
Stoke and Telegraph talking the maximum loan amount. Sky reporting 28 days. He's definitely on his way, just don't know for how long.
Daaave
Bit gutted we've had to move for Butland but I suppose with England's next number 1 already out on loan down the road he's probably the best available.
Rampage
McClaren is taking nom chances and if I know him, he may try to wheedle Butland here permanently for the right money for next year. Length of loan will be the give away. If Roos plays then we only have one goalkeeper with no young player is going to jump at the chance of coming to Derby because they are so high in the league. Would be only faintly surprised if we won seven nil against Blackpool but my forecast is four nil. Young players talk among themselves and they know where to go on loan and where not to go. The future is bright, the future is black and white. COYR
-JW-
Butland is better than Roos. Good move.
Posh Ram
I'd give Roos a couple of games before moving for a keeper on loan. He's been solid in all the games so far and deserves a chance imo. Still, Butland is definitely a good keeper and think he could improve with us.
