Wish I could of been there.. I envy people who have had the chance. Crowd surfing etc bring back them days! I went once but was to young to remember.

My dad took me to Filbert Street (Havne't been away often) we was so close to the pitch probarly the cloest i've come to a proper old school stadium loved it. Think Strupar and Christie scored can't really remember but they came upto me and we could hug them! Will always remember that lol.

What a sight, my best memory was Liverpool at home spring 1988, they needed to avoid defeat to equal unbeaten run from start of season. Ground packed .....Columbo terrace nearest scousers was heaving, no where to fit other than the "trenches" (the walk way between levels ) and could not get a view .....all this 30 minutes before kick off .  Solution of quite a few was to climb fence and drop into Season ticket "Popular Pen "?  Mate landed very bad ....in agony with his ankle.  St Johns in those days and Police would not venture into terrace unless they really had to ...so please for help ignored ......No way could get from front of terrace to the back and out .... so my mate watches game looking ill, leant up against the wall at the front, which incredibly was at least 4 foot lower than the pitch ....but when we equalised with 10 minutes to go whole ground erupted including my mate.

At end of game lead away finally pitch side, to medics room at back of away end ....and off to hospital to have plaster cast put on broken ankle

Regarding pitch being so much higher than the front terraces spaces, who can recall after the fences were removed, Perry Groves almost falling in as he ran to keep a ball in paly, and ended up leaning stomach on advertising board, looking down into Columbo terrace .....not a pretty site !

Used to post the the DLF forum did big John..

Always liked a wind up..

John was a cracking bloke, We didn't always see eye to eye, But you could never fault his passion for DCFC.

And the stories he used to post on the DLF site about his mam were brilliant.

He was also one of the main men in organising the big flag and looked after it for the 1st season or 2.  John, Myself and a few others were the people that used to walk it around from the North stand to the South East corner when we first got it.

He was also involved in the RPG alongside others off here when we decided that we needed to get rid of the 3 Amigos.

The bloke lived and breathed Derby County.

We had some great times on the terraces Ash.

Me and your dad along with a good few others from around the Ossie park area had some fun times.
