Agreed but that goes for pretty much any opinion on a message board. So what's the point? you know that thread where people give their opinions on the players performance each match for example. Doesn't matter a damn whether we thought Bird was a 7, 8 or 9 or that NML was MOM. The only opinion that counts is the managers. And so on and so forth. On here we have a debate right. Should we not do so?
In any case  I would disagree with you slightly though in that the collective opinions of supporters always counts. No owner can disregard that. At the moment Warne is on thin ice with a lot of supporters. He's probably at least as unpopular as Phil Brown was or Nigel Pearson was. He's got some good results at home in the league recently though so he's got some credit in the bank but that result and performance against Crewe hasn't helped his cause at all. We will see how he goes but would you like to bet any of your hard earned money that he will see out his 4 year contract?

He has failed so far. How long is the period we should set to make a judgement as to whether he has failed or not?
I think he absolutely must achieve promotion this season

    One word - patronising.
He will never have any intention of using the academy - he doesn't care one bit about trying to develop players but that's because he doesn't have a clue about developing.
    Rubbish coach - get rid.

    I see it differently.
I sensed a whole club mentality after the Wolves game. We had two ideal opportunities since to build on that. Particularly Weston. Think how good he felt after the Wolves match. We could easily have given him the last 15 -20 against Barnsley. Then last night, none of those senior players could have any complaints if they got subbed for a youngster. At 3-1 the game was perfectly set for a cup hero, no real pressue, just go out and see if you can get us back in. But no. All that good from the Wolves game wasted. That fire and desire in Weston dampened as he sits and watches players going through the motions. I imagine he feels somewhat deflated.
It just cements my opinion that Warne is not a risk taker and he sees anyone under 21/20 as a risk, with very little trust. For a club with an academy that we have done a lot of work to get back in shape it concerns me greatly.

Its definitely this point that has annoyed me the most & its on two levels.
Firstly, it didn't take too much thinking to conclude that the first team may not have been mentally up for last night's game given they'd just beaten a top 6 rival 3 days earlier in front of 28k & with an international break looming. That game was crying out for players for whom it would be a big deal - i.e. fringe players & especially the Academy lads, to match Crewe's enthusiasm. If we had played Fapetu, Weston & Robinson from the start, I honestly wouldn't have minded if we'd been beat 0-3 & I suspect I'm not alone in thinking that.
The second point is with regard to the long term development of youth players at a club that prides itself in having a Category 1 Academy. So far this season the kids have been trusted with one game - against a Wolves under 21 side who needed a big win to knock us out. That doesn't really come across as a serious pathway for what are clearly some talented players & as you rightly say, investment this season could accelerate their development in time for next summer. The 2021-22 season under Rooney showed how fast young players can develop when given opportunities - Ebiowei, Plange, Ebosele, Cashin & Thompson all came from nowhere to make first team contributions simply because they got the gametime to make mistakes & learn. Philip Cocu would also have played kids last night (and I suspect in the League Cup & throughout the EFL Trophy too) - picking Bird, Sibley & Knight away at Forest in League Cup in late 2019 was heavily criticised at the time but all 3 were making telling first XI contributions 3/4 months later.
We do not have the right manager in charge to develop youth & this is at odds with where the club wants & needs to go long term in order to be sustainable.

This stopped me wearing one for a while (always still chucked a couple of quid in the donation tin but never took the poppy). Sick of seeing tw4ts like Tommy Robinson and his thick followers hiJack something beautiful for their own means.

… but then I went and visited the battlefields in France and Belgium. The cemeteries, the monuments and heard from survivors. Made me realise we need to wrestle back the poppy from the likes of Robinson and those EDL mugs.

Don’t agree with forcing it on the whole crowd though. Imagine being a derby fan who flies in from Derry each match to find you’re smack bang in the middle of a poppy. Particularly if you’re old enough to remember the early 70s.

I agree with your view that it is a national day of mourning, and we show our respects for those who have lost their lives in war.  We do that through 2 minutes of silence.
Are you saying we shouldn’t mourn dead innocents from Palestine, who are also victims of war?
(And I don’t mean Hamas - their actions should be rightly condemned and may all who commit atrocities be brought to justice)

What an idiotic statement!! Nothing to do with football but why will every ground including non league and even park football show there respect today and tomorrow  ??
Some young men never got the chance to play football and today is about respecting them !! Don't bring palestine into it as today is all about those who bravely lost there lives!!!

Firstly, why should Derby accommodate this?
I’m not sure that something like this is necessary. It’s nothing to do with football, so why are people trying to introduce it en masse?
In the same manner that if someone wanted to do an equivalent for, say, Palestine, I imagine these same people would be suggesting that wasn’t acceptable.
If you want to show your support, wear a poppy.
If you don’t wish to then you don’t have to.
And most importantly, be respectful of each other’s personal views - just because people have a different outlook to you, it doesn’t mean you have to attack them - everything is so polarised nowadays, it’s exhausting.

Why sad? I don’t get why it’s sad.

He’s dragging our beloved club to its knees and he’s hiding from the facts.

He needs to walk away from a club that’s already had a rough 3 years. But instead he will wait to have a good proportion of his remaining 3 years paid off and walk straight into another job.

Please don’t feel sad, feel mad instead.

Just because you don't like or agree with what I'm posting doesn't make it tripe.
It doesn't seem like a few days of self-enforced absence has actually caused you to reflect on your attitude toward other posters at all.
Just another example of the biggest WUM on the forum treating others with contempt for no real reason.

everybody wants success but not everyone gets what they want . i think if some of the so called supporters who keep starting posts calling for the manager to be sacked came out from behind keyboards and actually thought things through they would have a second to realise how stupid they make themselves look. especially after 11 games and the injuries and other factors. stop and remember where we were two years ago or have you forgotten as it sounds.

Sorry, but I completely disagree. The longer this situation is allowed to continue the more long term damage will be done to the club.
Were there any signs of improvement whatsoever I could understand advocating for more time but the simple fact is things are getting worse, not better.

Feel sorry for him.  Everyone makes at t*** of themselves at least a couple of times when they first start drinking  at 16 or 17 and they realise there is a cut off for them.  In the old days your mates would take you outside and nobody would be taking photos to last forever on the internet. Have they realised he could be inhaling his own vomit or is the photo more important.

I’ve never heard of a modern day manager say I wanted to give up the middle of the pitch to have more play out wide. I can see why we have no control in matches if that’s his tactics.

As I've said in the other thread, the context is substantially different which i think you well know. I don't mind having discussions where I have to expand and substantiate my opinion, but I do mind the kind of nit-picking that you seem to increasingly specialise in on the forum when you're not telling others how to post.

You know a manager is doing well when the only argument people have for not getting rid is "we can't afford to".
